राष्ट्र बैंकले ७ अर्ब रुपैयाँ मुद्दती निक्षेपमा लगानी गर्ने, बैंक तथा वित्तीय संस्थासँग ब्याजदर प्रस्ताव मागNepal Rastra Bank to Invest Rs. 7 Billion in Fixed Deposits, Invites Interest Rate Proposals from BFIs
नेपाल राष्ट्र बैंक ले आफ्नो उपदान तथा पेन्सन कोषअन्तर्गत रहेको सात अर्ब रुपैयाँ मुद्दती निक्षेपमा लगानी गर्न बैंक तथा वित्तीय संस्थासँग ब्याजदर प्रस्ताव आह्वान गरेको छ । राष्ट्र बैंकले सोमबार सूचना जारी गर्दै ३६६ दिनका लागि उक्त रकम विभिन्न बैंक तथा वित्तीय संस्थामा राख्न इच्छुक संस्थालाई प्रस्ताव पेश गर्न आग्रह गरेको हो ।
राष्ट्र बैंकका अनुसार कुल रकममध्ये ‘क’ वर्गका वाणिज्य बैंकका लागि पाँच अर्ब ६० करोड रुपैयाँ छुट्याइएको छ । त्यस्तै ‘ख’ वर्गका राष्ट्रियस्तरका विकास बैंकका लागि एक अर्ब पाँच करोड रुपैयाँ तथा ‘ग’ वर्गका वित्त कम्पनीका लागि ३५ करोड रुपैयाँ विनियोजन गरिएको छ ।
मुद्दती निक्षेपका लागि प्रस्ताव पेश गर्न चाहने संस्थाले राष्ट्र बैंकले तोकेको ढाँचामा आवेदन तयार गरी पीडीएफ फर्म्याटमा पासवर्ड सुरक्षित गरेर इमेलमार्फत पठाउनुपर्ने व्यवस्था गरिएको छ । प्रस्ताव जेठ ६ गते साँझ ७ बजेसम्म पठाइसक्नुपर्नेछ भने पासवर्ड जेठ ७ गते बिहान १० बजेसम्म उपलब्ध गराउनुपर्ने राष्ट्र बैंकले जनाएको छ ।
राष्ट्र बैंकले मुद्दती निक्षेप लिन चाहने संस्थाका लागि विभिन्न मापदण्ड पनि तोकेको छ । कम्तीमा दुई वर्ष सञ्चालनमा रहेको, न्यूनतम पुँजीकोष कायम गरेको तथा निष्क्रिय कर्जा अनुपात निश्चित सीमाभित्र रहेको संस्था मात्र योग्य हुनेछन् । कुल कर्जाको ८ प्रतिशतभन्दा कम एनपीएल र ३ प्रतिशतभन्दा कम खुद एनपीएल भएको हुनुपर्ने सर्त राखिएको छ ।
त्यसैगरी खुद तरल सम्पत्ति अनुपात, कर्जा–निक्षेप अनुपात तथा नाफाको अवस्था पनि राष्ट्र बैंकको मापदण्डअनुसार हुनुपर्नेछ । समस्याग्रस्त घोषणा भएको वा शीघ्र सुधारात्मक कारबाहीमा परेको संस्था भए कम्तीमा ६ महिना फुकुवा भएको हुनुपर्ने व्यवस्था गरिएको छ ।
राष्ट्र बैंकले प्रस्ताव गरिएको ब्याजदर तोकिएको अवधिभर कायम रहने स्पष्ट पारेको छ । यसबीच सार्वजनिक हुने नयाँ ब्याजदर सम्बन्धी सूचनाले उक्त निक्षेप सम्झौतामा असर नगर्ने पनि केन्द्रीय बैंकले जनाएको छ ।
Nepal Rastra Bank has invited interest rate proposals from banks and financial institutions for the investment of Rs. 7 billion under its gratuity and pension fund. The central bank issued a public notice on Monday, seeking proposals from eligible institutions willing to accept the fixed deposit for a period of 366 days, from May 22, 2026 to May 22, 2027.
According to the notice, Rs. 5.60 billion has been allocated for Class ‘A’ commercial banks, Rs. 1.05 billion for national-level Class ‘B’ development banks, and Rs. 350 million for national-level Class ‘C’ finance companies.
Nepal Rastra Bank has instructed interested institutions to submit proposals in the prescribed format through email in password-protected PDF files by 7:00 PM on May 19, 2026 (Jestha 6, 2083). The password for the submitted file must be provided by 10:00 AM the following day.
The central bank has also set several eligibility criteria for participating institutions. Banks and financial institutions must have completed at least two years of operation, maintained the minimum required capital fund, and kept non-performing loans (NPLs) below the prescribed threshold. Institutions must maintain gross NPL below 8 percent of total loans and net NPL below 3 percent.
Similarly, institutions must meet the required standards related to net liquid assets, credit-to-deposit ratio, and profitability. Financial institutions that were previously declared problematic or subjected to prompt corrective action must have been released from such status for at least six months to qualify.
Nepal Rastra Bank further clarified that the proposed interest rate will remain fixed throughout the deposit period and will not be affected by any future changes in published interest rate notices during that time.
