नेपाल राष्ट्र बैंकले हालै नागरिकहरूलाई डिजिटल माध्यमबाट भइरहेको वित्तीय ठगीका घटनाबाट सचेत रहन आग्रह गरेको छ। अपरिचित व्यक्ति वा नम्बरबाट WhatsApp, Viber, Messenger जस्ता प्लेटफर्महरू मार्फत आएको सन्देशहरूमा क्यूआर कोड स्क्यान गर्न, बैंक खाता र पासवर्ड जानकारी दिन तथा रकम पठाउन नहुने चेतावनी बैंकले दिएको हो। बैंकका अनुसार, यस्ता सन्देशहरूले विभिन्न किसिमका ठगी योजनाहरूमा संलग्न गराउन सक्ने र ठूलो नोक्सानी पुर्याउन सक्छन्।
ठगहरूले प्रायः नागरिकहरूलाई लोभलालच देखाएर रकम पठाउन, क्याशब्याक र उपहारका प्रलोभन दिन्छन्, जुन ठगीका साधारण तरिकाहरू हुन्। बैंकले भनेको छ, “विदेशबाट आएको पैसा पठाउने प्रस्ताव, चिट्ठा परेको सूचना, क्रिप्टोकरेन्सी र FOREX व्यापारमा लगानी गर्नका लागि प्राप्त हुने अफरहरू ठगीका संकेत हुन्।”
वित्तीय सुरक्षा कायम राख्नका लागि बैंकले केही उपायहरू पनि सुझाएको छ। अपरिचित एप्स र लिंकहरूको प्रयोग नगर्न, आफ्नो व्यक्तिगत बैंक जानकारीको गोपनीयता कायम राख्न, र ठगीको कुनै पनि शंकास्पद गतिविधि देखेमा तुरुन्तै बैंकलाई जानकारी दिन अनुरोध गरिएको छ।
वित्तीय ठगीको शिकार भएको वा कुनै शंका लागेमा, नेपाल राष्ट्र बैंकले जनगुनासो वेबपोर्टल www.gunaso.nrb.org.np तथा फोन नम्बर ०१-४९१०६०१ मार्फत सम्पर्क गर्न नागरिकहरूलाई आह्वान गरेको छ। यस पहल मार्फत, राष्ट्र बैंकले देशभरि वित्तीय सुरक्षा र सचेतना बढाउन योगदान दिने आशा व्यक्त गरेको छ।
Nepal Rastra Bank has recently issued a warning to the public to remain vigilant against rising digital financial scams. The central bank has cautioned individuals not to share their bank account details, passwords, or transfer funds based on messages from unknown contacts through platforms such as WhatsApp, Viber, and Messenger. According to the bank, these types of messages often attempt to lure people into fraudulent schemes that could result in significant financial losses.
Scammers typically offer cash rewards, cashback, or gifts to trick individuals into transferring money or sharing sensitive information. Common fraud schemes include fake offers from abroad, lottery winnings, and invitations to invest in cryptocurrency and FOREX trading. Nepal Rastra Bank warns that such messages are clear indicators of potential fraud.
To maintain financial security, the bank has suggested several preventive measures. It advises people to avoid clicking on unfamiliar apps and links, keep their bank information confidential, and report any suspicious activities immediately.
