नेपाल टेलिकमले चालु आर्थिक वर्षको पहिलो छ महिनाको नाफा र घाटासम्बन्धी वित्तीय विवरण सार्वजनिक गरेको छ, जसमा कम्पनीको खुद नाफामा उल्लेख्य गिरावट आएको देखिएको छ।
कम्पनीले बिहीबार जारी गरेको वित्तीय विवरण अनुसार, गत आर्थिक वर्षको सोही अवधिको तुलनामा टेलिकमको खुद मुनाफा १२.९८ प्रतिशतले घटेर ४ अर्ब १६ करोड ४५ लाख ९ हजार रुपैयाँमा खुम्चिएको छ। गत वर्षको यसै अवधिमा कम्पनीले ४ अर्ब ७८ करोड ५९ लाख २५ हजार रुपैयाँ खुद मुनाफा आर्जन गरेको थियो।
यद्यपि, मुनाफामा गिरावट आए पनि कम्पनीको सञ्चालन आयमा सामान्य सुधार देखिएको छ। नेपाल टेलिकमका अनुसार, यस अवधिमा कुल सञ्चालन आय १.७३ प्रतिशतले बढेर १७ अर्ब २९ करोड ९७ लाख ३० हजार रुपैयाँ पुगेको छ।
कम्पनीले राजस्व र मुनाफामा गिरावटको प्रमुख कारण ओटीटी (ओभर द टप) सेवाहरू, जस्तै भाइबर, ह्वाट्सएप जस्ता प्लेटफर्महरूको बढ्दो प्रयोग रहेको उल्लेख गरेको छ, जसले पारम्परिक टेलिकम सेवाहरूको प्रयोग घटाएको छ।
यसरी, नेपाल टेलिकमको नाफामा गिरावट आए पनि सञ्चालन आयमा सुधार आएको छ, र कम्पनीको भविष्यमा बढ्दो ओटीटी सेवाहरूको चुनौतीसँग जुझ्नका लागि नयाँ रणनीति अवलम्बन गर्ने आवश्यकता रहेको छ।
Nepal Telecom has published its financial results for the first six months of the current fiscal year, showing a significant decline in its net profit.
According to the financial statement released on Thursday, the company’s net profit has decreased by 12.98%, dropping to NPR 4.16 billion. In comparison, during the same period last year, the company earned NPR 4.78 billion in net profit.
Despite the decline in profit, there has been a slight improvement in the company’s operating income. Nepal Telecom reported that its total operating income has increased by 1.73%, reaching NPR 17.30 billion for the review period.
The company attributed the impact on its revenue and profit to the growing use of OTT (Over-The-Top) services such as Viber and WhatsApp, which have reduced the reliance on traditional telecom services.
While Nepal Telecom’s profit has declined, the improvement in operating income signals a positive trend. However, the company may need to adopt new strategies to tackle the increasing competition from OTT services in the future.
