चालु आर्थिक वर्षको साउनदेखि वैशाखसम्मको १० महिनामा नेपालले २ खर्ब १७ अर्ब ९१ करोड रुपैयाँ बराबरको वस्तु निर्यात गरेको छ, जुन अघिल्लो वर्षको सोही अवधिको तुलनामा ७२.७१ प्रतिशतले बढी हो। भन्सार विभागको तथ्यांकअनुसार यो वृद्धिको मुख्य कारण भारतले तेलमा भन्सार दर घटाएपछि सोयाविन तेलको निर्यातमा आएको तीव्र वृद्धि हो।
यद्यपि निर्यात बढे पनि व्यापार घाटा भने अझै गहिरिँदै गएको छ। चालु आर्थिक वर्षको १० महिनामा नेपालले १२ खर्ब ५६ अर्ब २७ करोड रुपैयाँ बराबरको व्यापार घाटा व्यहोरेको छ, जुन अघिल्लो वर्षको सोही अवधिको तुलनामा करिब ७ प्रतिशतले बढी हो।
यो अवधिमा कुल आयात १३.११ प्रतिशतले बढेर १४ खर्ब ७४ अर्ब १८ करोड रुपैयाँ पुगेको छ, जुन अघिल्लो वर्षको १३ खर्ब ३ अर्ब ३५ करोड रुपैयाँ थियो।
निर्यात वृद्धि भए तापनि आयात अझै तीव्र गतिमा बढिरहेकाले नेपालको व्यापार असन्तुलन घट्नुको सट्टा झन् बढ्दै गएको देखिएको छ।
Nepal’s export trade has surged by 73% in the first ten months of the current fiscal year (Shrawan to Baisakh), according to data published by the Department of Customs. During this period, Nepal exported goods worth NPR 217.91 billion, a significant rise from NPR 126.17 billion in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
The major contributor to this increase has been the rise in soybean oil exports following a reduction in customs duties by India. However, despite the notable growth in exports, the trade deficit has widened further.
Nepal’s trade deficit reached NPR 1.256 trillion during the same 10-month period, an increase of nearly 7% compared to the NPR 1.177 trillion recorded during the same period last year. Total imports amounted to NPR 1.474 trillion, up by 13.11% from NPR 1.303 trillion last year.
This growing trade imbalance highlights ongoing challenges in narrowing the gap between exports and imports, despite recent improvements in outbound trade figures.
