NEPSE Ends the Second Quarter’s Final Trading Day with Modest Gains

On the final trading day of the second quarter, Wednesday, January 14, 2026 (Poush 30), the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) closed in positive territory with a marginal gain. Following a slight increase in the previous trading session on Tuesday, the market maintained its upward momentum. The NEPSE index rose by 1.52 points to settle at 2,641.43 points. However, while the Float Index remained unchanged, the Sensitive Index declined by 0.13 points and the Sensitive Float Index slipped by 0.07 points.
Despite the positive close, total turnover declined compared to the previous day. The market recorded a transaction volume of NPR 6.20 billion from 320 listed stocks through 72,671 transactions, involving the trading of approximately 12.5 million shares. Super Madi Hydropower led the gainers with a rise of 9.94 percent, followed by notable gains in Threestar Hydropower and NMB Microfinance. In terms of turnover, Radhi Bidyut Company topped the list. Out of 13 sub-indices, eight closed higher, with the Finance sub-index posting the highest gain of 2.55 percent, while banking, life insurance, manufacturing, microfinance, and other sub-indices ended the session slightly lower.
