NEPSE Falls as Trading Turnover Declines

On Monday, the second trading day of the week, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index closed lower after three consecutive days of gains. The benchmark index declined by 10.53 points to settle at 2,622.88 points. Along with the main index, the Sensitive Index fell by 1.47 points, while the Float Index and Sensitive Float Index dropped by 0.71 points and 0.60 points respectively. Market turnover also decreased compared to the previous session. While Sunday recorded a trading volume of NPR 5.53 billion, Monday saw shares worth NPR 4.77 billion traded across 69,548 transactions involving 337 stocks, with a total of about 10.37 million shares exchanged. SY Panel Nepal emerged as the top gainer with a 10 percent rise in its share price, whereas Win Nepal Laghubitta Financial Institution lost the most, dropping by 10 percent. In terms of turnover, SY Panel Nepal led the market with transactions exceeding NPR 230 million. Out of 13 sub-indices, only Development Bank and Mutual Fund groups posted marginal gains, while the remaining 11 sub-indices closed in the red, though losses across all declining sectors remained below 1 percent.
