NEPSE Inches Up After Three Consecutive Days of Decline

After declining for three consecutive trading days, the NEPSE index closed marginally higher on Tuesday. On the day, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index gained 3.27 points to settle at 2,584.49. Similarly, the Sensitive Index rose by 1.57 points, while the Float Index and Sensitive Float Index increased by 0.12 points and 0.31 points respectively. Despite the rise in the benchmark index, total market turnover declined compared to the previous session. The market recorded a total turnover of NPR 3.42 billion through 92,746 transactions of 328 listed companies, involving the trading of around 7.67 million shares, down from NPR 3.51 billion on Monday. During the session, shares of SY Panel Nepal surged the most by 7.01 percent, followed by notable gains in Guras Microfinance, Saptakoshi Hydropower, and Grameen Bikas Microfinance. In contrast, Citizen Life Insurance emerged as the top loser, shedding 5.97 percent. Based on turnover, SY Panel Nepal led the market with transactions worth nearly NPR 309.8 million. Out of the 13 sub-indices, seven closed higher while six ended in negative territory.
