NEPSE Index Declines by 5.37 Points; Finance Sector Surges

- On Sunday, the overall NEPSE index decreased by 5.37 points, settling at 2,062 points. The total trading volume reached NPR 4.37 billion.
- Out of the traded companies, the prices of 78 increased, 164 decreased, and 5 remained unchanged.
- Despite the overall market decline, the Finance sector made a notable gain of 5.49% (128 points). The Finance sector index had already reached a 16-month high last Thursday.
- Other sectors also saw gains, with the Other sector increasing by 4 points and the Trading sector by 19 points. However, indices for all other sectors declined:
- Banking: -4 points
- Development Bank: -4 points
- Hotel and Tourism: -58 points
- Hydropower: -1 point
- Life Insurance: -54 points
- Manufacturing: -29 points
- Microfinance: -56 points
- Non-Life Insurance: -13 points
- Several companies experienced significant price increases:
- Reliance Finance, Ganapati Microfinance, Sadhana Microfinance, Mailung Khola Hydropower, and Nepal Finance each saw a 10% rise.
- Buddhabhumi Hydropower increased by 8.1%, Mandakini Hydropower by 8%, and Pokhara Finance by 6.9%.
- Global IME Microfinance decreased by 6.5%, Upakar Microfinance by 5.1%, and Barahi Hydropower by 4.4%.
- Based on trading volume, the leading companies were Pokhara Finance, Nepal Finance, Reliance Finance, Mountain Energy, and Mandu Hydropower.
