NEPSE Index Declines on Second Trading Day of the Week

On the second trading day of the week, the NEPSE index closed lower. On Monday, the NEPSE index fell by 26.07 points to 2,798.83. The Sensitive Index dropped 6.38 points, the Float Index by 2.07 points, and the Sensitive Float Index by 2.10 points.Trading volume also decreased. A total of 345 stocks were traded 102,759 times, with 3.079 million shares worth NPR 11.9746 billion changing hands. Four stocks—Salpa Bikash Bank, Reliance Spinning Mills, Upper Hewakhola Hydropower Company, and Solu Hydropower—traded at the positive circuit level. Hotel Forest Inn shares rose by around 10%, while Peoples Hydropower shares increased by 6.5%.Based on turnover, Aankhu Khola Hydropower Company led the market with NPR 687.7 million in trades. National Hydropower exceeded NPR 660 million, and Upper Hewakhola Hydropower Company surpassed NPR 415 million in turnover.Among 13 sub-sectors, 12 saw a decline in their indices, while the Production and Processing sub-sector posted a small increase. Banking, Investment, and other sub-sectors declined by more than 1%.
