NEPSE Index Falls on Tuesday Despite Higher Turnover

The stock market declined on Tuesday as the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index closed lower after a marginal gain in the previous session. The benchmark NEPSE index fell by 12.58 points to settle at 2,683.15 points. The Sensitive Index dropped by 2.45 points, while the Float Index and Sensitive Float Index declined by 0.98 and 0.90 points, respectively. Despite the fall in indices, total turnover edged up compared to Monday. A total of NPR 8.63 billion worth of shares were traded through 92,338 transactions of 322 stocks, amounting to more than 18.7 million shares. Kalinchok Darshan Limited hit the positive circuit, while HLI Large Cap Fund, Megal Mutual Fund–1, and Panchakanya Mai Hydropower posted notable gains. Meanwhile, Sanvi Energy and Pure Energy saw their share prices decline. In terms of turnover, SY Panel Nepal topped the chart, followed by Ankhu Khola Hydropower and Union Hydropower. Out of 13 sub-indices, three closed higher and ten declined, with the Hotels and Tourism sub-index gaining the most at 1.79 percent, while the Finance sub-index recorded the highest loss of 1.09 percent.
