NEPSE Index Hits Seven-Month High with Strong Market Gains

On the first trading day of the week, the NEPSE index rose significantly. Continuing the upward trend of the past two trading days, the index increased by 54.51 points to reach 2,931.55 on Sunday, marking the highest level in nearly seven months. On the same day, the Sensitive Index rose by 11.11 points, the Float Index by 4.06 points, and the Sensitive Float Index by 3.82 points.A total of 364 stocks were traded 204,955 times, amounting to NPR 2.359 billion for 6.147 million shares, the highest trading volume in nearly seven months. Corporate Development Bank, Salpa Bikash Bank, Reliance Spinning Mills, Abhiyan Laghubitta, Solu Hydropower, Bhujung Hydropower, and Hotel Forest Inn shares hit the positive circuit level. Vijay Laghubitta shares rose by approximately 10%, and NIC Asia Laghubitta shares gained more than 9%.Based on trading volume, Kumari Bank led with NPR 859.6 million in share transactions. National Hydropower and Shivam Cements recorded transactions of NPR 7.8 million and NPR 750 million, respectively. Among the 13 sub-indices, 12 rose while one declined. The microfinance sub-index surged the most by 4.21%, while the hotel and tourism sub-index increased by over 3%. Banking, development banks, finance, life insurance, and non-life insurance sub-indices grew by more than 2%, whereas the trading sub-index saw a slight decline.
