Nepse Index Rises on Final Trading Day of the Week
On the final trading day of the week, the Nepse index saw an increase, reversing the downward trend observed in the previous two trading days. The index rose by 23.87 points, closing at 2820.44 points on Thursday. The Sensitive Index increased by 5.01 points, while the Float Index and Sensitive Float Index saw gains of 1.92 and 1.72 points, respectively.Along with the rise in the index, the trading volume also saw an uptick. On Thursday, a total of 416.86 million shares were traded across 335 stocks, with the trading amount reaching NPR 14.55 billion, an increase from the previous day’s turnover of NPR 13.18 billion.Two stocks, Salpa Development Bank and Reliance Spinning Mills, saw their share prices hit positive circuit levels. Additionally, National Hydropower Company and Hotel Forest Inn shares saw an increase of nearly 10%, while Darma Khola Hydro Energy shares rose by about 9.5%. On the other hand, stocks that declined saw a price drop of less than 4%.In terms of trading volume, National Hydropower Company topped the list with NPR 67.79 million worth of shares traded, followed by Hydro Electricity Investment and Development Company, which saw transactions amounting to nearly NPR 57 million. Kumari Bank also had significant trading, with over NPR 44 million in transactions.Among the 13 subgroups, 10 showed an increase, while 3 saw a decrease. The Banking subgroup posted the highest gain of 2.02%, followed by positive movements in the Development Bank, Finance, Hydropower, and Investment subgroups. Conversely, the Hotels and Tourism, Life Insurance, and Other subgroups experienced a slight decline.
