NEPSE Index Rises Slightly on Week’s First Trading Day, Trading Volume Declines
On the first trading day of the week, the NEPSE index rose slightly. On Sunday, the NEPSE index increased by 4.45 points to reach 2,824.90. The Sensitive Index rose by 0.41 points, the Float Index by 0.14 points, and the Sensitive Float Index by 0.18 points. However, trading volume declined slightly. In 124,490 transactions involving 350 stocks, shares worth NPR 1.432 billion were traded, totaling 39,549,000 units.Two stocks—Solu Hydropower and Salpa Bikash Bank—traded at the positive circuit limit. Share prices of Hotel Forest Inn rose by around 10%, and Greenlife Hydropower shares increased by 9.5%. On the other hand, Darmakhola Hydro Energy saw the largest drop in share price, declining by 10%.Based on trading value, Green Life Hydropower Ltd. the market with shares worth NPR 811.21 million traded. Ridi Power Company had trades worth approximately NPR 680 million, and National Hydropower Company crossed NPR 625 million. Among 13 sub-indices, 9 showed growth while 4 declined. The trading sub-index rose the most at 2.83%, whereas hotel and tourism, investment, life insurance, and mutual fund sub-indices experienced slight declines.
