NEPSE Surges Above 2,800 Points with Strong Trading Activity

Kathmandu – The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index closed higher on Wednesday, rebounding after a slight decline on Tuesday. The NEPSE index gained 45.12 points to close at 2,802.52, crossing the 2,800-point mark. Meanwhile, the Sensitive Index rose by 5.75 points, the Float Index increased by 2.89 points, and the Sensitive Float Index went up by 2.10 points.Trading volume also saw an uptick. A total of 98,162 transactions involving 1.88 crore shares worth NPR 831.89 million took place across 346 listed companies, compared to NPR 673 million on Tuesday. Seven stocks hit the positive circuit limit, including Reliance Spinning Mills, Shreenagar Agritech Industries, Solu Hydropower, Hotel Forest Inn, Super Khudi Hydropower, Rizline Energy, and Suryakund Hydro Electric. Additionally, Sanvi Energy shares rose by over 9%, while Bandipur Cable Car and Tourism shares increased by more than 8%. On the other hand, Shwet Ganga Hydropower and Construction recorded the largest decline of 4.35% in its share price.In terms of trading value, SY Panel Nepal led with shares worth NPR 468.1 million traded, followed by Reliance Spinning Mills with over NPR 420 million and Shivam Cements exceeding NPR 370 million. All 13 sub-sector indices rose, with the Production & Processing sub-sector leading at a 3.87% increase. Hotel & Tourism and Hydropower sectors rose by more than 2.5%, while Banking, Development Bank, Finance, Investment, Life Insurance, Microfinance, and Non-Life Insurance sub-sectors gained over 1%.
