विद्युतीय सवारीमा कर यथावत No Tax Changes for Electric Vehicles
सरकारले आगामी आर्थिक वर्ष २०८२/८३ का लागि ल्याएको आर्थिक ऐनमार्फत विद्युतीय सवारीसाधनमा लाग्ने करमा कुनै परिवर्तन नगरेको छ। पूर्वसञ्चालित दरहरु नै यथावत राख्ने निर्णयले पछिल्लो समय बजारमा फैलिएको कर वृद्धि सम्बन्धी अफवाहलाई खारेज गरेको छ।
पछिल्लो केही सातादेखि विद्युतीय कारमा कर बढ्ने हल्ला चलिरहेका बेला व्यवसायीहरुले ठूलो संख्यामा ईभी (EV) आयात गरेका थिए। तर अर्थमन्त्री विष्णुप्रसाद पौडेलले बिहीबार संघीय संसद्को दुवै सदनको संयुक्त बैठकमा बजेट प्रस्तुत गर्दै विद्युतीय कार, माइक्रो, भ्यान तथा अन्य सवारीसाधनमा हालको कर संरचना नै कायम रहने स्पष्ट पारे।
चालु आर्थिक वर्ष २०८१/८२ को कर संरचना यथावत
विद्युतीय कारहरूमा लाग्ने भन्सार तथा अन्तःशुल्क (Excise Duty) दरहरू यसप्रकार छन्:

यसका अतिरिक्त सडक मर्मत तथा सम्भार दस्तुर ५% र भ्याट १३% यथावत रूपमा लाग्नेछ।
केवल विद्युतीय कार मात्र होइन, हाइब्रिड, पेट्रोल, र डिजेल सवारीसाधनमा पनि लाग्दै आएको करका दरहरू जस्ताको तस्तै राखिएको छ। हाइब्रिड सवारीको कर घट्ने सम्भावनाबारे व्यापक चर्चा चलिरहँदा सरकारले त्यसलाई पनि अस्वीकार गरेको छ।
सरकारको यो निर्णयले सवारी करमा स्थायित्व कायम रहने र आयातकर्ताले बजार रणनीति तय गर्न स्पष्ट मार्गदर्शन पाउने संकेत दिन्छ। बजेटमार्फत सरकारले विद्युतीय सवारीलाई कर छुट दिनेभन्दा नियमितीकरण र स्थायित्वमा जोड दिएको देखिएको छ।
Kathmandu, Jestha 15 – The Government of Nepal has announced no changes in tax rates for electric vehicles (EVs) in the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2082/83. Despite widespread speculation about potential tax hikes on EVs, Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel clarified in his budget speech to the joint session of the federal parliament that existing tax rates will remain unchanged.
In recent weeks, there had been a surge in EV imports, driven by rumors that taxes might increase. However, the government’s decision to maintain current rates has now put those concerns to rest.
Current Tax Structure on Electric Vehicles (Carried Over from FY 2081/82):

5% road maintenance fee
13% Value Added Tax (VAT)
No Changes for Hybrid and Petroleum Vehicles Either
The finance minister also did not make any changes to the tax rates on hybrid, micro vans, vans, or petroleum-powered vehicles. Speculation had been rife that hybrid vehicles might receive a tax cut, but the government opted to maintain uniformity across all categories.
This move reflects the government’s intent to ensure policy stability rather than introduce frequent changes. While some had hoped for greater incentives for EV adoption, the focus appears to be on continuity and predictability, helping importers and consumers make clearer decisions.
