बैंकिङ क्षेत्र सुधारका लागि राष्ट्र बैंकले बाह्य विज्ञको संयोजकत्वमा सुझाव उपसमिति गठनNRB Forms Expert-Led Committee for Banking Sector Reform
नेपाल राष्ट्र बैंकले पहिलोपटक बाह्य विज्ञको संयोजकत्वमा बैंकिङ क्षेत्र सुधारका लागि ३ सदस्यीय सुझाव उपसमिति गठन गरेको छ। राष्ट्र बैंकको सञ्चालक समितिको जेठ २१ गते बसेको बैठकले गभर्नर डा. विश्व पौडेलको प्रस्तावमा उपसमिति गठन गर्ने निर्णय गरेको हो।
उक्त उपसमितिको संयोजकमा धितोपत्र बोर्डका पूर्वअध्यक्ष तथा पूर्वनिर्देशक डा. रेवतबहादुर कार्की रहेका छन्। समितिमा सानिमा बैंकका पूर्वप्रमुख कार्यकारी अधिकृत तथा नेपाल बैंकर्स एसोसिएसनका पूर्वअध्यक्ष भुवन दाहाल सदस्य र राष्ट्र बैंकका कार्यकारी निर्देशक गुरु पौडेल सदस्य सचिव तोकिएका छन्।
उपसमितिलाई बैंकिङ क्षेत्रको वर्तमान अवस्था, संरचना, जोखिम व्यवस्थापन, नियमन प्रणाली तथा दीर्घकालीन सुधार उपायहरूबारे अध्ययन गरी ३० दिनभित्र सुझाव पेश गर्न समयसीमा तोकिएको छ।
राष्ट्र बैंकले यसअघि आफ्नै आन्तरिक संयन्त्रबाट बैंकिङ क्षेत्र सुधारको पहल गर्दै आएकोमा, पहिलोपटक बाहिरका विज्ञको संयोजकत्वमा उपसमिति गठन गरेर सुझाव माग्नु ऐतिहासिक कदमका रूपमा हेरिएको छ।
राष्ट्र बैंकले बैंकहरूको अनुमति, नियमन, सुपरिवेक्षण तथा सुधारको जिम्मेवारी आफ्नै स्थापनाकालदेखि सम्हाल्दै आएको दाबी गर्दै आएको छ। नयाँ उपसमितिको गठनसँगै अब बैंकिङ सुधारका नीति तथा कार्ययोजनामा ताजा दृष्टिकोण समावेश हुने अपेक्षा गरिएको छ।
For the first time in its history, Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has formed a 3-member recommendation subcommittee led by an external expert to suggest reforms in the banking sector. The subcommittee was formed based on a proposal by NRB Governor Dr. Bishwo Paudel during the central bank’s board meeting held on Jestha 21.
The subcommittee is coordinated by Dr. Rewat Bahadur Karki, former Chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) and a former NRB Director. Other members include Bhuvan Dahal, former CEO of Sanima Bank and past President of the Nepal Bankers’ Association, and Guru Paudel, Executive Director of NRB, who will serve as the member secretary.
The committee has been given 30 days to study and submit its recommendations on necessary reforms in the banking sector, including current challenges, institutional structure, risk management, regulatory frameworks, and long-term strategic improvements.
This marks the first time NRB has formed such a committee under the leadership of an external expert, signaling a major policy shift towards inclusive and independent reform planning.
Since its inception, NRB has traditionally handled banking licenses, supervision, regulation, and reforms internally. The new subcommittee is expected to bring fresh perspectives and practical recommendations for the development and strengthening of Nepal's banking system.
