The total assets of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) have significantly increased in the first six months of the current fiscal year. The bank's total assets grew by NPR 237.91 billion, reaching NPR 2.304 trillion. This growth is primarily attributed to the expansion of investments in foreign bonds, deposits in foreign banks, and gold certificates. By the end of Poush (mid-January), investments in foreign bonds reached NPR 1.253 trillion, while deposits in foreign banks amounted to NPR 691.97 billion.
The share of foreign currency assets in NRB's total assets remains strong, reaching NPR 2.202 trillion, while domestic currency assets stand at NPR 102.34 billion. Cash in circulation has also risen to NPR 717 billion during the current fiscal year. With NRB's focus on financial strengthening and investment strategy expansion, overall economic management is becoming increasingly robust.
