The Public Procurement Monitoring Office (PPMO), operating under the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, has decided to blacklist two additional construction companies. Issuing a notice on Tuesday, the office stated that the companies have been barred from participating in any procurement activities for the next three years.

According to the notice, the firms were blacklisted under Section 63, Sub-section (1) of the Public Procurement Act, 2063, after they failed to complete the construction works entrusted to them within the stipulated time. The PPMO noted that the companies repeatedly neglected their contractual responsibilities, prompting the disciplinary action.

With the blacklisting now in effect, both companies will be prohibited from taking part in any government procurement processes, bids, contracts or public construction projects for the duration of three years. The office said it will continue enforcing strict measures to ensure quality, transparency and timely completion of public construction works.
