Record High Trading in the Stock Market on Wednesday

On Wednesday, the stock market witnessed a record-breaking trading volume, reaching the highest amount ever recorded. The total transaction value for the day reached NPR 21.91 billion, surpassing the previous record of NPR 21.53 billion set on July 31, 2021, during the last bull phase.
NEPSE Index Rises
With Wednesday's trading, the NEPSE index increased by 64.25 points, reaching 2760.90 points. The share prices of 191 companies rose, while 44 companies saw a decrease, and the prices of 7 companies remained unchanged. All sector indices experienced growth, with notable sectors including Banking, Development Banks, Finance, Hotels and Tourism, Hydropower, Investment, Life Insurance, Manufacturing, Microfinance, Non-Life Insurance, Others, and Trade.
Top Gainers
On this day, 14 companies' share prices increased by up to 10%. Among them were United Ajod Insurance, Gorkhaj Finance, Shri Investment Finance, Reliance Finance, Divyashwari Hydropower, Nepal Republic Media, Kutheli Bukhari Small Hydropower, Progressive Finance, Oriental Hotel, Samriddhi Finance, Multipurpose Finance, and First Microfinance, which saw increases ranging from 9.9% to 10%.
Declining Companies
Some companies, however, experienced a decline in their share prices. Aatmanirbhar Laghu Bitta's price dropped by 6.5%, while Upakar Laghu Bitta and Asian Hydropower saw decreases of 5% and 4%, respectively.
Leading Companies by Trading Volume
Himalayan Reinsurance, Mountain Energy, Shivam Cement, Nepal Finance, and Api Power were the top companies in terms of trading volume.
