Rs. 12.70 Billion Investment Secured for Ghunsa Khola Hydropower Project

A multi-party loan agreement has been finalized for the 77.5 MW Ghunsa Khola Hydropower Project. The project, being developed by Remit Hydro Limited, has secured investments of Rs. 12.70 billion from Laxmi Sunrise Bank, Hydroelectricity Investment Company, Citizen Investment Trust, Machhapuchhre Bank, and Everest Bank.

The project has 51% equity investment from institutions, including Nepal Electricity Authority, while 49% of shares are allocated for the public. Of the public shares, 29% are reserved for Nepali citizens working abroad, 10% for local residents affected by the project, and 10% for the general public.

With the goal of completion within four years, construction work is progressing rapidly.
