मियामी — बुकायो साकाले ह्याट्रिक गरेपछि इंग्ल्यान्डले फिफा विश्वकप २०२६ को तेस्रो स्थानको खेलमा फ्रान्सलाई ६–४ ले हराएको छ। शनिबार भएको गोलले भरिएको प्रतिस्पर्धामा जित निकाल्दै इंग्ल्यान्डले कांस्य पदक हात पारेको हो।
डेक्लान राइसले तेस्रो मिनेटमै इंग्ल्यान्डको खाता खोले। एज्री कोन्साले १८औँ मिनेटमा दोस्रो गोल थपे भने साकाले पहिलो हाफमा दुई गोल गरे। इंग्ल्यान्ड मध्यान्तरसम्म ४–० ले अगाडि थियो।
दोस्रो हाफमा फ्रान्सले खेलमा फर्कने प्रयास गर्यो। कप्तान किलियन एमबाप्पेले दुई तथा ब्राड्ली बारकोलाले एक गोल गरेपछि अन्तर ४–३ मा छोटिएको थियो।
खेलको ८७औँ मिनेटमा प्राप्त पेनाल्टीमा गोल गर्दै साकाले ह्याट्रिक पूरा गरे। इन्जुरी समयमा उस्मान डेम्बेलेले फ्रान्सका लागि गोल गरे पनि त्यसलगत्तै जुड बेलिङ्घमले इंग्ल्यान्डको छैटौँ गोल गर्दै जित निश्चित गरे।
यस जितसँगै इंग्ल्यान्ड सन् १९६६ पछि पहिलोपटक विश्वकपको शीर्ष तीनमा परेको छ। प्रतियोगितामा प्रभावशाली प्रदर्शन गरेका साका उत्कृष्ट खेलाडी घोषित भए।
Miami — Bukayo Saka scored a hat-trick as England defeated France 6–4 in the third-place playoff of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. England claimed the bronze medal after surviving a strong second-half comeback from France.
Declan Rice opened the scoring in the third minute before Ezri Konsa doubled England’s lead in the 18th minute. Saka then scored twice before half-time to give England a commanding 4–0 advantage.
France responded strongly after the break. Captain Kylian Mbappe scored twice, while Bradley Barcola added another goal to reduce the deficit to 4–3.
Saka completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot in the 87th minute. Ousmane Dembele scored for France in stoppage time, but Jude Bellingham struck soon afterwards to confirm England’s 6–4 victory.
The result marked England’s first top-three finish at a World Cup since winning the tournament in 1966. Saka was also named the best player of the competition following his impressive performances.
