Kathmandu — Taxar Pikhua Khola Hydropower Limited is set to open its Initial Public Offering (IPO) for the general public from April 23 (Baisakh 23), as part of its plan to raise capital for its ongoing project. The company has received approval to issue a total of 4.23 million shares.Out of the total issuance, a portion has already been allocated to project-affected locals, Nepali citizens working abroad, company employees, and mutual funds. The remaining shares will now be made available to the general public. Investors will be able to apply for a minimum of 10 shares and a maximum of 50,000 shares.According to the company, the IPO will remain open until early closing if fully subscribed, or otherwise until May 19 (Jestha 6). Applications can be submitted through the C-ASBA system via banks and financial institutions.The company is developing an 8 MW hydropower project with an estimated total cost of around NPR 1.88 billion. Based on its financial and project risk profile, CARE Ratings Nepal has assigned the company a ‘CARE-NP BB+’ rating, indicating a moderate level of risk.The issue is being managed by Prabhu Capital Limited, which will oversee the IPO process. The funds raised through the public offering are expected to support project financing and help manage existing liabilities.While hydropower IPOs generally attract strong investor interest in Nepal, analysts note that subscription levels for this offering will depend on investor confidence in the project’s execution, financial structure, and overall market conditions.
