युनिलिभर नेपालले चालु आर्थिक वर्षको पहिलो त्रैमासमा ४३ प्रतिशत नाफा घटेको वित्तीय विवरण सार्वजनिक गरेको छ। कम्पनीको खुद नाफा यस अवधिमा ३० करोड रुपैयाँ मा सीमित भएको छ, जबकि गत आर्थिक वर्षको सोही अवधिमा नाफा ५२ करोड ६९ लाख रुपैयाँ थियो।

नाफामा आएको ठूलो गिरावटको प्रमुख कारण कम्पनीको बिक्री तथा सञ्चालन आम्दानीमा आएको कमी हो। गत वर्षको पहिलो त्रैमासमा २ अर्ब २५ करोड रुपैयाँ आम्दानी भए पनि यस वर्ष सोही आम्दानी घटेर २ अर्ब रुपैयाँमा खुम्चिएको विवरणमा उल्लेख छ।

यता, कम्पनीको कुल खर्च भने सामान्य रूपमा बढेको छ। गत वर्ष १ अर्ब ६३ करोड रुपैयाँ रहेको खर्च यो वर्ष बढेर १ अर्ब ६६ करोड रुपैयाँ पुगेको छ। कच्चा पदार्थको लागत बढ्नु यस खर्च वृद्धि‍को मुख्य कारण मानिएको छ।

नाफा घटेसँगै कम्पनीको प्रतिसेयर आम्दानी (EPS) पनि घटेको छ। पहिलो त्रैमासमा EPS ३२६ रुपैयाँ मात्र रहेको छ भने कम्पनीको वार्षिक EPS १,८८४ रुपैयाँ छ। गत वर्ष यसै अवधिमा वार्षिक EPS २,०९६ रुपैयाँ थियो, जसले कम्पनीको नाफा क्षमतामा आएको दबाब झल्काउँछ।

यसैबीच, कम्पनीको प्रतिसेयर नेटवर्थ भने वृद्धि भएको छ। गत वर्ष ५,८३६ रुपैयाँ रहेको नेटवर्थ यो वर्ष बढेर ६,०३३ रुपैयाँ पुगेको छ। ९ करोड २१ लाख रुपैयाँ चुक्ता पूँजी रहेको युनिलिभर नेपालको सञ्चित आम्दानी ५ अर्ब ४३ करोड रुपैयाँ पुगेको छ।

सेयर बजारमा युनिलिभर नेपाललाई सबैभन्दा उच्च मूल्य भएको कम्पनीका रूपमा चिनिन्छ। हाल यसको सेयर मूल्य प्रतिकित्ता ४६ हजार ५ सय रुपैयाँ मा कारोबार भइरहेको छ।

Unilever Nepal has reported a 43% decline in net profit in the first quarter of the current fiscal year. According to the company’s financial report, the net profit for the period stands at Rs. 30 crore, compared to Rs. 52 crore 69 lakh in the same quarter last fiscal year.

The sharp decline in profit is primarily due to a drop in sales and operating income. The company’s revenue, which was Rs. 2.25 billion in the first quarter of last year, has contracted to Rs. 2 billion in the current review period.

Meanwhile, the company’s total expenses have slightly increased. Total expenses rose from Rs. 1.63 billion last year to Rs. 1.66 billion this year, largely driven by the rising cost of raw materials.

With profit declining, the company’s Earnings Per Share (EPS) has also fallen sharply. The EPS for the first quarter stands at Rs. 326, while the annualized EPS is Rs. 1,884. In the same period last year, the annualized EPS was Rs. 2,096, indicating pressure on the company’s profitability.

Despite falling profit, the company’s net worth per share has increased, rising from Rs. 5,836 last year to Rs. 6,033 this year. Unilever Nepal, with a paid-up capital of Rs. 9 crore 21 lakh, has accumulated earnings of Rs. 5.43 billion.

Unilever Nepal remains one of the most valuable companies in the Nepalese stock market. Its shares are currently trading at Rs. 46,500 per unit.
