अमेरिका र इरानबीचको सैन्य टकराव थप चर्किएको छ। जोर्डनस्थित अमेरिकी सैन्य केन्द्रमा भएको इरानी आक्रमणमा दुई सैनिक मारिएपछि अमेरिकाले इरानमाथि लगातार आठौँ रात हवाई कारबाही गरेको हो।
अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रम्पको निर्देशनमा गरिएको पछिल्लो कारबाहीमा इरानी सैन्य अखडा, हतियार भण्डारणस्थल र सैन्य आपूर्ति प्रणालीलाई निशाना बनाइएको अमेरिकी सेनाको सेन्ट्रल कमान्डले जनाएको छ। अमेरिकाले होर्मुज जलडमरूमध्यमा पानीजहाज आवतजावतमा अवरोध पुर्याउने इरानी क्षमता कमजोर पार्नु आक्रमणको उद्देश्य रहेको बताएको छ।
इरानले अमेरिकी आक्रमणबाट दक्षिणी क्षेत्रमा पुल र अन्य पूर्वाधारमा क्षति पुगेको जनाएको छ। अमेरिका भने आफ्ना आक्रमण सैन्य लक्ष्यमा केन्द्रित रहेको दाबी गर्दै आएको छ। यसैबीच, कुवेतले इरानी आक्रमणबाट विद्युत् तथा समुद्री पानी प्रशोधन केन्द्र प्रभावित भएको जनाएको छ।
इरानी स्वास्थ्य मन्त्रालयका अनुसार जुन २७ यता भएका अमेरिकी आक्रमणमा कम्तीमा ५० जनाको मृत्यु भएको छ भने पाँच सयभन्दा बढी घाइते भएका छन्। यो विवरण इरानी अधिकारीको दाबीमा आधारित छ।
द्वन्द्वका कारण विश्वको प्रमुख तेल ढुवानी मार्ग होर्मुज जलडमरूमध्यमा पानीजहाजको आवागमन घटेको छ। तनाव लम्बिएमा अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय तेल आपूर्ति, ढुवानी लागत र विश्व अर्थतन्त्रमा थप दबाब पर्न सक्ने चिन्ता बढेको छ।
Military tensions between the United States and Iran have intensified further, with US forces carrying out airstrikes on Iranian targets for an eighth consecutive night.
The latest operation followed an attack on a US military base in Jordan that killed two American soldiers. President Donald Trump said the strikes were conducted under his direction as a retaliatory measure.
According to the US Central Command, the operation targeted Iranian military bases, weapons storage facilities and logistics infrastructure. Washington said the strikes were intended to weaken Iran’s ability to threaten international shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran has claimed that bridges and other infrastructure in its southern region were damaged in the attacks. The United States, however, maintains that its operations have focused on military targets.
Iranian authorities say at least 50 people have been killed and more than 500 injured in US airstrikes since June 27. The figures have not been independently verified.
The conflict has also disrupted shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important oil transportation routes. A prolonged confrontation could affect global oil supplies, increase transport costs and place additional pressure on the world economy.
