Wean Nepal Laghubitta Revises Shareholding Structure — Promoter Stake Reduced to 62.03%

Kathmandu — Wean Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited has officially announced a revision in its shareholding structure. The institution was formed through the merger of Nepal Seva Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited and Wean Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited.

Initially, the merged entity had a shareholding composition of 70% promoter shares and 30% public shares. However, as per a recent decision, the promoter ownership, particularly from the former Nepal Seva Laghubitta side, has been revised downward by 7.97 percentage points. The new shareholding structure now stands at 62.03% promoter shares and 37.97% public shares of the total paid-up capital.

This adjustment has been made in compliance with Section 11(4) of the Bank and Financial Institution Act, 2073 (2017), and in accordance with the Unified Directives issued by the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) for “D” class microfinance institutions, along with other prevailing laws.

The institution has also received necessary regulatory approval from Nepal Rastra Bank for the modification.
With this change, Wean Nepal Laghubitta’s ownership structure now fully aligns with the central bank’s regulatory standards, which is expected to enhance the institution’s governance and operational stability.
