What is a Government Bond?

The poster explains that government bonds are financial instruments issued by the government to meet its internal borrowing needs. The Public Debt Management Office of Nepal is responsible for their issuance and management.

The Nepalese government primarily uses four types of bonds for internal borrowing:

  1. Treasury Bills

  2. Development Bonds

  3. Citizens' Savings Bonds

  4. Foreign Employment Savings Bonds

These bonds serve different purposes, such as financing trade bills, development projects, and savings for citizens and individuals involved in foreign employment. The poster highlights the secure nature of these bonds as they are backed by the government, emphasizing their stability as an investment.
