काठमाडौं । शेयर बजारका सक्रिय तथा परिचित कारोबारी दीपेन्द्र अग्रवालले हालै नेकपा (एमाले) मा प्रवेश गरेपछि राजनीतिक र आर्थिक वृत्तमा चर्चा सुरु भएको छ । पूँजी बजारसँग प्रत्यक्ष सरोकार राख्ने व्यक्ति राजनीतिक दलमा आबद्ध हुनुको कारण के हो भन्ने जिज्ञासा स्वाभाविक रूपमा उठेको छ।
अग्रवालका अनुसार, उनी नेपाल कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी (एमाले) को राष्ट्रवादी विचार, स्थिर नेतृत्व र ‘समृद्ध नेपाल, सुखी नेपाली’ अभियानबाट प्रभावित भएर पार्टीमा प्रवेश गरेका हुन् । पार्टी प्रवेश कार्यक्रममा अध्यक्ष केपी शर्मा ओली ले उनलाई पार्टीमा स्वागत गरेका थिए।
अग्रवाल भन्छन्, “नेपालले नाकाबन्दी, भूकम्प, कोभिडजस्ता गम्भीर संकट झेल्दा एमालेले देखाएको नेतृत्व क्षमता र निर्णय शक्ति मलाई सधैं प्रभावशाली लाग्यो । देशलाई आत्मनिर्भर बनाउने सोच र राष्ट्रिय स्वाभिमानलाई केन्द्रमा राख्ने पार्टी यही हो भन्ने निष्कर्षमा पुगेँ।”
पूँजी बजार र एमालेप्रति विश्वास
शेयर कारोबारी अग्रवालका अनुसार, पूँजी बजारलाई केवल नाफा कमाउने थलोको रूपमा हेर्नु सीमित सोच हो । “नेपाली शेयर बजार १२ लाखभन्दा बढी लगानीकर्ताको आशा, युवाको भविष्य र देशको आर्थिक मेरुदण्ड हो,” उनी भन्छन्, “यसलाई सही नीतिबाट अघि बढाउन सकियो भने राष्ट्रिय अर्थतन्त्रलाई बलियो बनाउने सबैभन्दा प्रभावकारी माध्यम यही हो।”
उनको भनाइमा, एमालेले पूर्वाधार विकास, ऊर्जा परियोजना, औद्योगिक विस्तार र निजी क्षेत्रसँग सहकार्य गर्ने नीतिलाई प्राथमिकता दिँदै आएको छ, जसले दीर्घकालीन रूपमा पूँजी बजारलाई समेत मजबुत बनाउने आधार तयार गर्छ।
राष्ट्र निर्माणमा योगदान गर्ने चाहना
अग्रवालले पार्टी प्रवेशको निर्णय व्यक्तिगत लाभका लागि नभई राष्ट्र निर्माणमा योगदान गर्ने उद्देश्यले गरेको स्पष्ट पारेका छन् । “म कुनै पद, सुविधा वा फाइदाका लागि पार्टीमा आएको होइन,” उनले भने, “देशको आर्थिक सुधार, लगानीमैत्री वातावरण र लगानीकर्ताको हित संरक्षणका लागि आफ्नो अनुभव र ज्ञान प्रयोग गर्न चाहन्छु।”
उनका अनुसार, राजनीतिक स्थायित्व बिना न त उद्योग फस्टाउँछ, न त पूँजी बजार । त्यसैले आर्थिक क्षेत्रका व्यक्तिहरू पनि नीतिगत तहमा पुगेर बोल्न र काम गर्न आवश्यक रहेको उनको धारणा छ।
एमालेको अपेक्षा
एमाले नेतृत्वले अग्रवालको प्रवेशलाई पूँजी बजार र पार्टीबीचको दूरी घटाउने अवसरका रूपमा हेरेको छ । पार्टीको विश्वास छ कि शेयर बजार, लगानीकर्ता र निजी क्षेत्रका मुद्दा बुझ्ने व्यक्तिको सहभागिताले आगामी दिनमा लगानीमैत्री नीति निर्माणमा सकारात्मक योगदान पुग्नेछ।
यसरी, राष्ट्रवादी विचार, स्थिर नेतृत्व, पूँजी बजारप्रतिको स्पष्ट दृष्टिकोण र राष्ट्र निर्माणमा सक्रिय भूमिका खेल्ने चाहनाले नै शेयर कारोबारी दीपेन्द्र अग्रवाललाई एमाले प्रवेशतर्फ डोर्याएको देखिन्छ।

According to Agrawal, his decision was driven primarily by UML’s nationalist ideology, strong leadership, and long-term vision of “Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali.” He formally joined the party at UML’s central office in Chyasal, where he was welcomed by party chairman KP Sharma Oli.
Agrawal stated that UML’s leadership during times of national crisis—such as the Indian blockade, the post-earthquake reconstruction phase, and economic uncertainty—played a decisive role in shaping his trust in the party. “When the country faced pressure and instability, UML demonstrated courage, clarity, and the ability to take bold decisions in the national interest,” he said.

As an active participant in Nepal’s capital market, Agrawal believes that the stock market should not be viewed merely as a platform for short-term profit. “Nepal’s share market represents the hopes of over 1.2 million investors, the future of young people, and a core pillar of the national economy,” he explained.
He expressed confidence that UML’s focus on infrastructure development, hydropower expansion, industrial growth, and private-sector collaboration creates a strong foundation for sustainable economic progress. In his view, these policies directly support the long-term stability and growth of the capital market.
Desire to Contribute to Nation-Building
Agrawal has emphasized that his entry into UML is not motivated by personal gain or political ambition. “I have not joined the party seeking position, power, or personal benefit,” he clarified. “My intention is to contribute my experience from the capital market toward strengthening investment policy, protecting investors, and improving Nepal’s economic structure.”
He also highlighted the importance of political stability for economic development. According to him, without stable governance, neither industries nor financial markets can thrive. This belief convinced him that professionals from economic sectors should actively engage in policy-level discussions.

UML leadership views Agrawal’s entry as a bridge between the political sphere and the capital market.
