Government to Strengthen Evidence-Based Policymaking

Kathmandu — The government will make evidence-based policy formulation, implementation, and monitoring more effective, Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle announced through the budget.

Wagle said the Education Quality Testing Centre, the agricultural statistics system, and the consumer price index statistics system under Nepal Rastra Bank, among others, will be integrated under the National Statistics Office.

The Finance Minister added that the Policy Research Institute will be placed under the National Planning Commission to make it a body capable of formulating the government's long-term vision and policy.
