How to Upload Passport, Photo, and Supporting Documents for Thailand E-Visa

The Thailand E-Visa portal offers Nepali applicants a fast and paperless way to apply for visas, but uploading documents correctly is key to success. Clear, color, and properly formatted files help ensure fast approval. Your passport must be valid for six months, your photograph must meet size and background requirements, and your travel and financial proofs must be genuine. Reviewing your uploads carefully before submitting helps avoid unnecessary delays.

How to Upload Passport, Photo, and Supporting Documents for Thailand E-Visa

When applying for a Thailand E-Visa from Nepal, one of the most important steps is uploading your passport, photograph, and supporting documents correctly. The Thai Embassy reviews all your uploaded materials carefully, and even a small error in format or quality can delay or reject your application. Therefore, understanding how to prepare and upload each file properly through the official portal www.thaievisa.go.th is crucial.

After you have created your account and verified your email, log in to your dashboard and click “Apply for a New Visa.” Once you have filled in your personal and travel details, the system will take you to the document upload section. Each field is labeled for a specific purpose — such as Passport Biodata Page, Photograph, Proof of Accommodation, Travel Itinerary, and Financial Evidence. Uploading the right file in the right section ensures a faster review.

The passport upload must include the biodata page — the page with your photograph, full name, date of birth, and passport number. The passport should be valid for at least six months from the intended travel date and should have two blank pages for stamping. Scan it in high resolution (300 dpi), in color, and ensure no corners or edges are cut off. Avoid mobile photos taken under low light; instead, use a scanner or professional scanning app. Save the file as a PDF or JPG, and make sure the size is under 2MB.

The photo upload requires a recent passport-size photo taken within the last six months. It must have a plain white background, a neutral facial expression, and clear visibility of your face and shoulders. You should not wear hats, sunglasses, or head coverings unless for religious purposes. The recommended dimensions are 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm, and the format must be JPG or PNG, with a maximum size of 2MB. Do not upload selfies or group photos — these are rejected automatically by the system.

For supporting documents, you must provide clear evidence of your travel purpose and financial capability. Upload your round-trip flight ticket showing both entry and exit from Thailand. For accommodation, attach your hotel booking confirmation for your entire stay or an invitation letter from a Thai host (including their Thai ID or residence permit). You must also upload a bank statement covering at least the last three to six months, showing sufficient balance — typically above USD 700 (around NPR 93,000). The statement must have your name, bank seal, and signature to be valid. If you are employed, you can also include your employer letter or business registration certificate.

Make sure all your files are color scanned, clearly readable, and saved as PDF or JPG. Each file must be under 2MB. If a file exceeds this limit, use a PDF compressor tool before uploading. Once you finish uploading, click “Preview” to review each file visually and confirm that every document is clear and in the correct section.

Common mistakes include uploading dark or cropped passport images, unclear photos, missing financial proofs, or mismatched travel dates between hotel and flight bookings. Avoid using screenshots or mobile camera photos for documents, as these are often rejected for being unclear. Always ensure your files match your application details exactly.

Once all uploads are complete, click “Submit and Proceed to Payment.” After submission, you cannot replace documents unless the Embassy requests it. Always keep digital copies of your files for reference.
