Macao Tourist Visa for Nepali Citizens: Documents, Fees & Validity

For Nepali citizens, traveling to Macao requires obtaining a tourist visa prior to departure, as visa-on-arrival is not available for Nepal passport holders. The visa application must be submitted in person at the Chinese Visa Application Service Center (CVASC) located in Kathmandu. Applications are accepted from Tuesday to Thursday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and the processing period typically ranges from 15 to 30 working days after submission and document verification.

To apply for a Macao tourist visa, applicants must fill out the official Macao Visa Application Form, attach two recent 1.5-inch color photographs, and submit their original valid passport along with photocopies of all used pages. The documents required for a tourist visa are straightforward but must be complete and accurate. Applicants are required to present proof of the purpose of visit, such as a detailed travel itinerary or letter outlining their reason for travel. A round-trip flight booking is mandatory, and the departure date should be set after 15–30 working days from the submission date, while the return date should not exceed 14 days after arrival in Macao.

Accommodation proof is another essential requirement. Applicants may either submit a hotel reservation confirmation or, if staying with relatives in Macao, provide utility bills (water, electricity, internet, or phone) or a bank statement under the host’s name for the last one to three months. Additionally, every applicant must provide a financial proof document, which is a balance confirmation certificate issued by a bank, showing that the applicant has funds exceeding 15,000 Macanese Patacas (MOP). This certificate must be recent—issued within the last one month—and should include the bank’s seal and signature to be considered valid.

The visa fee for Nepali citizens totals NPR 9,400 per applicant, which includes a visa fee of NPR 3,300, a service fee of NPR 3,900, and a visa contact fee of NPR 2,200. All payments are made directly at the visa center during submission. Once approved, the visa is issued with varying validity depending on travel frequency. The single-entry visa allows one entry within 3 months and a stay of up to 14 days. The double-entry visa is also valid for 3 months, permitting 14 days per entry, while the multiple-entry visa is valid for 6 months with a 14-day stay allowed per visit.

Applicants must ensure that their application form is filled out truthfully, clearly, and completely. Any false information, missing details, or unclear handwriting may result in a delay or outright visa refusal. The final decisionregarding visa issuance rests with the visa officers in charge of assessment. To stay updated on any policy or document changes, travelers should regularly visit the official website of the Public Security Police Force of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) at http://www.fsm.gov.mo/psp/cht/psp_top5_3m.html.

For Nepali travelers, this process ensures transparency, security, and compliance with Macao’s immigration policies. Properly preparing all the required documents, maintaining a valid financial statement, and submitting the form well in advance can help avoid last-minute delays and ensure smooth travel to Macao for tourism or leisure purposes.
