Malaysia e-Visa for Nepali Families – Group Application & Requirements

Nepali families applying for Malaysia e-Visa must file separate applications for each family member under one MYVISA account, ensuring all details — travel date, accommodation, and contact address — match across forms. There is no special family-group visa form, but families can streamline approval by submitting all applications together and providing a cover letter confirming joint travel. Each member pays fees separately and must carry all required documents during entry.

Malaysia e-Visa for Nepali Families – Group Application & Requirements

When a Nepali family plans to visit Malaysia together for tourism, family reunion, or social visits, each member of the family must apply for an individual e-Visa through Malaysia’s official portal — https://malaysiavisa.imi.gov.my. The Malaysian Immigration Department does not offer a single “group family application form,” but it does allow multiple applications under the same account. This means a parent can log in once and submit separate e-Visa applications for up to five family members, ensuring that all details such as itinerary, address, and accommodation remain consistent.

Each family member (including children) must have a valid Nepali passport with at least six months of validitybeyond the intended travel date. The application form should contain the same travel dates, address in Malaysia (such as hotel booking or host’s residence), and purpose of travel. Families are encouraged to upload a short cover letteraddressed to the Malaysian Immigration Officer stating that all applicants belong to one family travelling together. This helps ensure smooth processing and consistent approvals.

Required Documents for Each Member:

  • Passport biodata page (clear scanned copy, valid for 6 months minimum).

  • Recent studio photograph (white background, 35 mm × 50 mm).

  • Confirmed return flight tickets for all travellers on the same flight (if applicable).

  • Proof of accommodation — hotel booking under the family’s name or a host’s invitation letter with address and contact details.

  • Birth certificate for children below 18 years (to show family relationship).

  • Cover letter explaining the purpose of travel and mentioning family members’ details.

Each applicant must pay the required Visa Fee (RM 20) and Processing Fee (RM 105) individually through the official online payment portal. Convenience charges apply depending on the chosen method (0.8% for card payments and 1.7% for e-wallets). The application takes approximately 2 – 7 working days to process, excluding weekends and holidays.

Upon approval, each member will receive a separate e-Visa approval note (PDF) which should be printed or stored digitally when travelling. Families should carry original passports, flight tickets, and hotel confirmation at the airport. Parents travelling with minors are advised to carry a birth certificate or consent letter to confirm family linkage if questioned by immigration officers.
