Online Hong Kong Visa Submission for Nepalese — Upload Supporting Documents Guide

Nepalese citizens can now apply for Hong Kong visas fully online. Applicants must fill out the digital form, upload valid supporting documents (passport, photo, financial proof, itinerary, or sponsor papers) in JPEG/PDF format under 5 MB, and pay the visa fee online. An acknowledgment email confirms submission, and any extra documents can be uploaded later. The process usually takes 5–10 working days. Yatra For Fun Pvt. Ltd. assists with online applications, document formatting, and tracking.

Online Hong Kong Visa Submission for Nepalese — Upload Supporting Documents Guide

The Hong Kong Immigration Department has made the visa process fully digital, allowing Nepalese citizens to apply for a visit, transit, business, or family visa entirely online. This new online system saves time, eliminates the need for paper applications, and ensures faster communication through email. To start your application, go to the official portal of the Hong Kong Immigration Department or GovHK and select “Online Application for Entry for Visit / Transit in Hong Kong.” Once the online form opens, you must fill in personal information such as your full name, passport number, date of birth, address, purpose of travel (tourism, business, or family visit), and your planned arrival and departure dates. After this, the most important step begins — uploading your supporting documents.

For a successful Hong Kong visa application, every document must be clear, valid, and uploaded in the correct format. The mandatory documents include your passport copy (the page showing your personal details and expiry date), passport-sized photo, and proof of financial means, such as your bank statement, salary slip, or savings account balance. These show that you can cover your travel expenses during your stay in Hong Kong. If you are employed, also upload an employment certificate or company letter. For tourists, you should attach your travel itinerary or tour package details, while for business travelers, an invitation letter or meeting confirmation from a Hong Kong company is required. Family visitors need to upload proof of relationship (such as a marriage or birth certificate) and sponsor details, including the sponsor’s Hong Kong ID, proof of residence, or business registration certificate.

While uploading, make sure that all scanned copies meet the technical specifications of the system. The file formats accepted are JPEG, PDF, GIF, PNG, or TIF, and each document must not exceed 5 MB. Use color scans for documents that contain photos, seals, or stamps, and grayscale for text-only documents. The online system allows you to upload multiple files for each document type (up to 5 files), which makes it easier to submit both sides of ID cards or multiple financial pages. Once all files are uploaded, carefully review your application before pressing “Submit.” You will then be asked to pay the visa fee online through the secure payment portal using a credit or debit card.

After submission, you will receive an acknowledgment email from the Immigration Department with your application reference number. This number is crucial because it allows you to track your application status and upload additional documents if requested. If the authorities need further documents, they will email you with a direct link to the “Online Supplementary Document Submission” page, where you can upload the missing files. Always check your inbox and spam folder daily to ensure you don’t miss any important updates.

Upon approval, you’ll receive a digital e-Visa in PDF format through email. You must download and print it before traveling to Hong Kong, as you’ll need to present it at immigration on arrival. The entire process — from submission to approval — usually takes about 5–10 working days, depending on the completeness of your documents.

To make this process easy and error-free, Yatra For Fun Pvt. Ltd., Nepal’s leading visa assistance agency, provides complete support for Hong Kong visa documentation and online submission. The team helps applicants prepare all documents in the correct format, ensure proper uploads, track status, and handle any additional requests from the Hong Kong Immigration Department. Yatra For Fun also assists Nepali citizens living abroad, including in Australia, Japan, and Europe, who wish to apply online for Hong Kong visas or re-apply with corrected documents.
