Required Documents for Hong Kong Visa Application from Nepal

Applying for a Hong Kong Visa or Entry Permit from Nepal requires proper documentation to ensure your application is complete and approved without delays. The Hong Kong Immigration Department follows a structured process, and missing even a single document can cause rejection or prolong the review time. Therefore, all Nepali applicants should prepare their papers carefully before submitting their visa application online or by post.
The first essential document is a valid Nepali passport, which must have at least six months of validity remaining beyond your intended stay in Hong Kong. Applicants must also include clear photocopies of the passport’s bio-data page, any previous visas, and blank pages for visa stamps. Along with the passport, a recent passport-sized photograph with a white background is required for both online and physical submission.
Next, applicants must fill out the official Visa Application Form ID 1003A available on the Hong Kong Immigration Department website. If you have a local sponsor in Hong Kong, that person must also complete Form ID 1003B, detailing their name, address, and relationship with the applicant.
Applicants must demonstrate financial stability through documents like bank statements, salary slips, tax records, or business registration certificates. Employees should include a letter from their employer confirming their position, salary, and approved leave. For business owners or self-employed individuals, proof of registration and income documents are recommended.
Along with financial proof, travelers must submit their flight itinerary or confirmed round-trip ticket and hotel booking confirmation or accommodation details. If visiting family or friends, you must include an invitation letter, the sponsor’s Hong Kong ID copy, and address proof. For business visits, applicants should attach business invitation letters, trade fair registration, or meeting confirmations.
To show ties to Nepal, applicants should provide citizenship certificates, national ID copies, or family relationship documents such as marriage or birth certificates. Including a cover letter explaining the purpose of travel, duration of stay, and travel itinerary strengthens the application.
Once all documents are prepared, you can apply online or send your full application by post to:
Immigration Department, 61 Po Yap Road, Tseung Kwan O, New Territories, Hong Kong.
Applications sent by email are not accepted. The processing time usually ranges from 4 to 6 weeks, depending on accuracy and volume.
Make sure to include a copy of the visa fee payment receipt (usually between HKD 250 and HKD 400). Missing receipts or incomplete documents can lead to delays. Once approved, applicants will receive an eVisa (electronic visa)via email, which must be printed and presented during travel.
