Beijing — A Nepal investment conference aimed at promoting bilateral economic cooperation and attracting Chinese investment has begun in Beijing, China’s capital. The event will run from Thursday to Friday.
The conference is being organized by the Nepali Embassy in Beijing, with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) serving as co-organizer.
According to the embassy, more than 30 Nepali investors from various sectors have travelled to China to participate in the event and present investment opportunities in Nepal.
Economic diplomacy chief at the Nepali Embassy, Parvati Aryal, said that on the first day alone, representatives from around 80 Chinese companies are expected to take part in the discussions. Overall, nearly 200 investors from both Nepal and China are expected to attend the conference over the two-day event.
The second day of the program will feature a special session co-organized under the China Joint-Stock Business Enterprise Economic Federation’s platform economy committee. The session will focus on expanding bilateral trade, investment cooperation, and business partnerships between the two countries.
Officials said the conference is expected to serve as a key platform for strengthening economic ties and encouraging Chinese foreign direct investment into Nepal’s priority sectors.
Economic analysts believe the event could help open new avenues for Chinese investment in Nepal, particularly in infrastructure, energy, tourism, and production-based industries.
