काठमाडौँ — सरकारले नेपाल बीमा प्राधिकरणको नयाँ अध्यक्षमा राजन विक्रम थापालाई नियुक्त गरेको छ । मन्त्रिपरिषद्को मंगलबार बसेको बैठकले बीमा क्षेत्रको नियामक निकायको सर्वोच्च पदमा थापालाई ल्याउने निर्णय गरेको हो ।
अर्थ मन्त्रालयद्वारा गठित छनोट तथा सिफारिस समितिको प्रस्तावलाई सदर गर्दै सरकारले उनलाई उक्त जिम्मेवारी सुम्पेको हो । मन्त्रिपरिषद्बाट नियुक्त भएलगत्तै नवनियुक्त अध्यक्ष थापाले बुधबार अर्थ मन्त्रालयमा आयोजित एक विशेष समारोहबीच आफ्नो पद तथा गोपनीयताको शपथ ग्रहण गरेका छन् ।
उनलाई अर्थमन्त्री डा. स्वर्णिम वाग्लेले शपथ गराएका हुन् । शपथ ग्रहण कार्यक्रममा बोल्दै अर्थमन्त्री डा. वाग्लेले बीमा क्षेत्रप्रति आम नागरिकको विश्वास बढाउनुपर्नेमा जोड दिए । उनले कुनै पनि प्रभाव वा दबाबमा नपरी निडर र निर्धक्कका साथ आफ्नो जिम्मेवारी निर्वाह गर्न नयाँ अध्यक्ष थापालाई विशेष निर्देशन समेत दिएका छन् ।
Kathmandu — The government has appointed Rajan Bikram Thapa as the new Chairman of the Nepal Insurance Authority. The Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday decided to bring Thapa to the highest position of the insurance sector's regulatory body.
Approving the proposal of the selection and recommendation committee formed by the Ministry of Finance, the government entrusted him with this responsibility. Immediately following his appointment by the Cabinet, the newly appointed Chairman Thapa took the oath of office and secrecy amidst a special ceremony held at the Ministry of Finance on Wednesday.
He was sworn in by Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle. Speaking at the oath-taking program, Finance Minister Dr. Wagle emphasized the need to increase public trust in the insurance sector. He also gave special instructions to the new Chairman, Thapa, to fulfill his responsibilities fearlessly and confidently, without falling under any influence or pressure.
