काठमाडौं। स्वीट्जरल्यान्ड फिफा विश्वकप २०२६ को क्वाटरफाइनलमा पुगेको छ। आज सम्पन्न अन्तिम १६ को खेलमामा कोलम्बियामाथि पेनाल्टी सुटआउटमा ४-३ गोलको जित निकाल्दै टोली क्वाटरफाइनलमा पुगेको हो।
निर्धारित ९० मिनेट र अतिरिक्त ३० मिनेटसम्म गोलरहित बराबरीमा रोकिएपछि खेलको निर्णय पेनाल्टी सुटआउटबाट भयो। पेनाल्टीमा स्वीट्जरल्यान्डले नतिजा आफ्नो पक्षमा ल्यायो।
अर्कोतर्फ गोल गर्ने थुप्रै अवसर खेर फालेको कोलम्बियाले त्यसको महँगो मूल्य चुकाउन पुग्यो। खेलमा गोल प्रहार र टार्गेटमा प्रहार गर्ने तथ्यांकमा अघि रहे पनि उसले पेनाल्टीमा हार ब्यहोर्दै प्रि-क्वाटरफाइनलबाटै घर फर्कन पर्यो।
सन् १९५४ पछि पहिलो पटक अन्तिम आठमा स्थान बनाएको स्वीट्जरल्यान्डले अब उपाधि दाबेदार अर्जेन्टिनासँग सेमिफाइनल प्रवेशका लागि प्रतिस्पर्धा गर्नेछ।
भ्यानकुभरमा दुवै टोलीले गोलका अवसर सिर्जना गरे फिनिसिङ फितलो रह्यो। अतिरिक्त समयमा जोन लुकुमीको हेडर क्रसबारमा लाग्दा र जामिन्टन क्याम्पाजले गोलकिपरसँगको वानभर्सेसवानको समेत अवसर गुमाउँदा कोलम्बिया अग्रता लिनबाट वञ्चित भयो।
पेनाल्टी सुटआउटमा कोलम्बियाका डाभिन्सन सान्चेजले पहिलो असफल प्रहार गर्दै बल क्रसबारमा ठोक्काए। त्यसपछि गोलरक्षक ग्रेगोर कोबेलले कुचो हेर्नान्डेजको प्रहार रोकेपछि स्वीट्जरल्यान्ड जितको नजिक पुगेको थियो।
स्वीट्जरल्यान्डका ग्रानिट साका, जेकी आम्दौनी, सेड्रिक इटेन र रुबिन भार्गासले पेनाल्टीमा गोल गरे भने म्यानुअल आकान्जीको प्रहार बारमाथिबाट बाहिरिएको थियो। अन्तिम प्रहारमा भार्गासले शान्त रूपमा बल जाली चुमाउँदै स्वीट्जरल्यान्डलाई ऐतिहासिक जित दिलाए।
कोलम्बियाका जुआन फर्नान्डो क्विन्टेरो, जामिन्टन क्याम्पाज र लुइस डियाजले गोल गरे। तर सान्चेज र हेर्नान्डेजको असफलताले टोलीको विश्वकप यात्रा अन्तिम १६ मै टुंगियो।
स्वीट्जरल्यान्डले अब क्वार्टरफाइनलमा अर्जेन्टिनाको चुनौती सामना गर्नेछ। अर्जेन्टिना यसअघि इजिप्टलाई ३-२ ले हराउँदै अन्तिम आठमा पुगेको थियो।

In the penalty shootout, Colombia's Davinson Sanchez missed the first penalty, hitting the ball over the crossbar. Then, Kobel saved Cucho Hernandez's penalty, bringing Switzerland closer to victory.
Switzerland's Granit Xhaka, Djibril Aoue, Cedric Itten, and Ruben Vargas scored their penalties, while Manuel Akanji's penalty was saved. In the final penalty, Vargas calmly scored, giving Switzerland a historic win.
Colombia's Juan Fernando Quintero, Jaminton Campaz, and Luis Diaz scored their penalties, but the misses by Sanchez and Hernandez ended Colombia's World Cup journey in the round of 16.
Switzerland will now face Argentina in the quarterfinals. Argentina had previously defeated Egypt 3-2 to reach the quarterfinals.
