The Earnings Per Share (EPS) of Sonapur Minerals and Oil Limited remains negative.

Sonapur Minerals and Oil Limited (SONA) has published its unaudited financial report for the second quarter of the fiscal year 2081/82. According to the report, the company has managed to reduce its net loss compared to the previous fiscal year.

Net Loss Reduced
During the review period, the company reported a net loss of Rs. 1.25 billion, which is an improvement from the Rs. 1.48 billion loss recorded in the same period last year.

Operating Revenue Increased by 30%
The company's operating revenue increased from Rs. 7.05 billion last year to Rs. 9.15 billion this year, marking a 29.77% growth.

Gross Profit Declined, but Operating Profit Surged

  • The company's gross profit decreased by 9.02%, falling from Rs. 951.5 million to Rs. 865.7 million.

  • However, operating profit saw a significant 119.49% increase, reaching Rs. 250.96 million.

Financial Costs Decreased

  • The company reduced its financial costs to Rs. 1.25 billion, which is a 14.09% decrease from Rs. 1.45 billion last year.

Negative Earnings Per Share (EPS) Improved

  • The company's EPS (Earnings Per Share) remains negative at Rs. -7.94, but it has improved from last year’s Rs. -9.62.

  • The Net Worth Per Share has increased to Rs. 184.36.

Stable Paid-up Capital, Growth in Reserves

  • The company’s paid-up capital remains stable at Rs. 3.07 billion.

  • The reserves and surplus have grown to Rs. 9.40 billion, reflecting a 43.99% increase from Rs. 6.53 billion last year.

During the review period, the company has successfully reduced its net loss, though it has not yet achieved profitability. While the increase in operating revenue is a positive sign, the decline in gross profit remains a challenge. However, the improvement in operating profit and reduction in financial costs indicate a stronger financial position for the company in the coming periods.
