काठमाडौं — अविरल वर्षासँगै आएको विनाशकारी बाढी र पहिरोले यतिबेला सिंगो देशलाई गहिरो शोक र संकटमा डुबाएको छ। जीवनको सामान्य गतिमा रमाइरहेको नेपाली समाज एकाएक विपत्तिको चपेटामा परेको छ। वर्षौँको पसिना र मिहिनेतले ठड्याएका बासस्थान क्षणभरमै भग्नावशेषमा परिणत हुँदा हजारौं नागरिकका सपनाहरू जलमग्न भएका छन्। कतै बेपत्ता आफन्तको बाटो कुर्नेहरू छन् त कतै सर्वस्व गुमाएकाहरूको चित्कार। प्रकृतिको यो निर्मम प्रहारले मानिस कति असहाय छ भन्ने यथार्थलाई फेरि एकपटक सम्झाइदिएको छ।
यस त्रासदीपूर्ण अँध्यारोका बीच पनि मानवीयता र सहयोगका उज्याला पाटाहरू देखिएका छन्। आफ्नो ज्यानको बाजी राखेर सुरक्षाकर्मी, स्वास्थ्यकर्मी, सञ्चारकर्मी र स्थानीय युवाहरू रातदिन उद्धार तथा राहतमा खटिएका छन्। यसका साथै, विभिन्न संघसंस्था र अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय समुदायले समेत विपद् व्यवस्थापनमा हातेमालो गरिरहेका छन्। विपत्तिले कुनै सीमा, वर्ग र भूगोल चिन्दैन भन्ने तथ्यलाई आत्मसात् गर्दै अहिले जसले जहाँबाट जे सकिन्छ, त्यही सहयोग लिएर प्रभावितको घाउमा मल्हम लगाउने प्रयास भइरहेको छ।
यतिबेला सरकार वा कसैलाई दोष दिएर पन्छिने वा सामाजिक सञ्जालमा मुकदर्शक बनेर बस्ने छुट कसैलाई छैन। समाजको असली परीक्षा यस्तै दुःखको घडीमा हुन्छ। विपद्मा परेकाहरूलाई लत्ताकपडा, खाद्यान्न, आर्थिक सहयोग, सही सूचना वा स्वयंसेवामार्फत सानै भए पनि आडभरोसा दिनु हरेक नागरिकको दायित्व हो। भ्रम र अफवाहबाट जोगिँदै विश्वसनीय संयन्त्रमार्फत सहायता पुर्याउनु अहिलेको आवश्यकता हो। देश रोइरहेका बेला एउटा साँचो नेपालीका रूपमा पीडितको आँसु पुछ्न र भत्केका बस्तीहरूमा फेरि आशा जगाउन सबैले आ-आफ्नो ठाउँबाट काँध थाप्न जरुरी छ।
KATHMANDU — Incessant rains and the subsequent devastating floods and landslides have plunged the entire nation into a state of profound grief and crisis. The normalcy of everyday life has been abruptly shattered by the wrath of nature. In a matter of moments, lifetimes of hard work and dreams were reduced to debris and washed away by raging waters. With thousands left completely destitute, waiting endlessly for missing loved ones, this merciless blow of nature serves as a stark reminder of human vulnerability.
Yet, amidst this harrowing darkness, beacons of humanity are shining through. Putting their own lives on the line, security personnel, healthcare workers, journalists, and local youths are working around the clock in search, rescue, and relief operations. Furthermore, various civic organizations and the international community have joined hands in disaster response. Proving that calamities recognize no boundaries, borders, or classes, a collective effort is underway to heal the wounds of the affected, with people contributing whatever they can from wherever they are.
This is no time to play the blame game or remain passive spectators scrolling through social media. The true character of a society is tested in the crucible of such tragedies. It is the moral obligation of every citizen to offer a shoulder to lean on—whether through donations of food and clothing, financial aid, volunteer work, or simply disseminating verified information. Steering clear of rumors and utilizing reliable channels to deliver aid is the absolute need of the hour. While the nation bleeds, we must step forward as true citizens to wipe the tears of the victims and rekindle hope in the shattered communities.
