5. Problems and Challenges:
(a) Internal Problems and Challenges
Increasing operating costs of the bank, increasing net interest income by widening interest rate spreads within regulatory base rates and premium standards, income diversification, improving credit quality and managing non-performing loans, capital adequacy and investment capacity getting constrained by increased risk-weighted assets, identifying appropriate investment areas, identifying and managing operational risks and inherent risks in information technology—in light of these existing internal problems and challenges, improving the Bank's overall indicators in the long run remains a challenging task.
(b) External Problems and Challenges
Increasing non-performing loans and loan loss provisions, along with legal and procedural complexities in recovering such non-performing loans, make non-performing loan management extremely challenging. Under such conditions, intense competition in the banking sector, migration of skilled manpower from the banking sector, new challenges appearing in information technology, slowdown in real estate business, legal and social complexities in loan recovery are the major external problems. Under these existing problems, sustainably expanding the Bank's business, maintaining asset quality, and providing reasonable returns to investors remain challenging tasks.
(c) Strategy
To address the above challenges and increase distributable profit by proper management of non-performing loans, accrued interest, overdue borrowers, and non-banking assets, the Bank has adopted strategies to: bring rural and remote areas as well as unbanked individuals and institutions into the banking fold to increase deposit mobilization; aggressively market other bank services to expand business; use modern technology and software to provide banking facilities without customers needing to present themselves physically at the bank; develop new technology-based services in a timely manner; provide quick and efficient customer-oriented services to foster sweet relationships with various business associations and individual customers; strengthen basic aspects of the Bank's overall risk management; operate the Bank's internal work systems paperlessly to achieve set targets through cost economy; and make customer service facilities prompt and orderly.

An Anti-Money Laundering Committee has been formed to analyze the overall compliance status of the Bank, determine customer risk levels, and issue appropriate directives to address identified shortcomings. Credit risk monitoring and analysis are handled by a separate department under the Risk Management Committee, separated from market management activities. Furthermore, internal policies, rules, and guidelines related to various departments have been issued and implemented to systematically manage operations. To make the decision-making process quick, efficient, and streamlined, various committees operate at the management level, including the Management Committee (Executive Committee), Asset Liability Management Committee (ALCO), and IT Steering Committee.
