Fuel Prices Unchanged, NOC Announces Continuation of Existing Rates

Nepal Oil Corporation has decided to leave petroleum product prices untouched. Through a press release issued Monday, the corporation confirmed that the current retail rates for fuel will remain in effect without any revision.

NOC has long maintained a pricing structure that divides the country into three geographic zones based on proximity to supply depots and transportation costs. Under the first zone — covering Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Birgunj, Bhalwari, Nepalgunj and Dhangadhi — petrol will continue to be sold at Rs 214.50 per litre, while diesel and kerosene remain at Rs 222.50 per litre.

Consumers in Surkhet and Dang, which fall under the second zone, will pay Rs 216 per litre for petrol and Rs 224 per litre for diesel and kerosene. The third zone, covering Kathmandu, Pokhara and Dipayal, carries the highest rates — petrol at Rs 217 and diesel and kerosene at Rs 225 per litre.

The decision to hold prices steady comes at a time when crude oil values in international markets have been fluctuating. NOC typically reviews its pricing only after evaluating the latest purchase rates from Indian Oil Corporation, transportation costs, and its own overall financial position before deciding whether any adjustment is warranted.

For now, everyday consumers across the country can continue purchasing fuel at the same rates they have grown accustomed to — at least until the corporation's next round of assessment concludes otherwise.
