स्थानीय अवरोधले लिखु नदीका तीन जलविद्युत् आयोजना ठप्प, करोडौँको क्षतिLocal Protest Halts Three Likhhu River Hydropower Projects, Causing Millions in Losses
रामेछाप/सोलुखुम्बु। स्थानीय बासिन्दाको अवरोधका कारण लिखु नदी क्षेत्रमा सञ्चालित तीन जलविद्युत् आयोजनाको विद्युत् उत्पादन पूर्ण रूपमा ठप्प भएको छ। दुई दिनदेखि उत्पादन बन्द हुँदा कुल १६१ मेगावाट क्षमताका आयोजनाबाट विद्युत् उत्पादन रोकिएको छ भने कम्पनीहरूलाई करोडौँ रुपैयाँको आर्थिक क्षति भएको छ।
रामेछाप जिल्ला र सोलुखुम्बु जिल्ला का स्थानीय बासिन्दाले आयोजना कम्पनीले प्रिमियम मूल्यमा आईपीओ निष्कासन गर्न लागेको भन्दै विरोध जनाउँदै आएका छन्। स्थानीयले आफूहरूलाई प्रतिकित्ता १०० रुपैयाँ अंकित मूल्यमै सेयर उपलब्ध गराउनुपर्ने माग राख्दै आन्दोलन चर्काएपछि आयोजना सञ्चालन प्रभावित भएको हो।
आयोजना प्रवर्द्धक कम्पनीले भने नेपाल धितोपत्र बोर्ड (सेबोन) को नियमअनुसार नै प्रिमियम मूल्यमा आईपीओ निष्कासन प्रक्रिया अघि बढाइएको दाबी गरेको छ। कम्पनीका अनुसार सम्बन्धित निकायबाट आवश्यक स्वीकृति प्राप्त भइसकेको र स्थानीयको माग कानुनी व्यवस्थासँग मेल नखाने जनाएको छ।
विद्युत् उत्पादन बन्द हुँदा दुई दिनमै करिब ४ करोड रुपैयाँभन्दा बढी क्षति भएको कम्पनीले जनाएको छ। उत्पादन अवरुद्ध भएपछि आर्थिक असर थप बढ्न सक्ने भन्दै चिन्ता व्यक्त गरिएको छ।
समस्या समाधान गरी उत्पादन पुनः सञ्चालनमा ल्याउन सम्बन्धित निकाय तथा ऊर्जा उत्पादकहरूको संस्थाले सहजीकरणको पहल थालेका छन्। स्थानीय माग र कम्पनीबीच सहमति जुटाउने प्रयास जारी रहेको जनाइएको छ।
Ramechhap/Solukhumbu: Electricity generation from three hydropower projects operating in the Likhu River has been completely halted for the past two days due to protests by local residents, leading to significant financial losses for the companies involved.
The projects, with a combined installed capacity of 161 megawatts, have been forced to shut down after local communities in Ramechhap District and Solukhumbu District intensified their opposition.
The locals have been protesting against the companies’ plan to issue shares at a premium price through an IPO. They are demanding that shares be allocated to them at the face value of Rs 100 per share, escalating their agitation and disrupting project operations.
The project developers, however, claim that the IPO issuance process is being conducted in accordance with the regulations of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON). According to the companies, necessary approvals have already been obtained, and the local demands do not align with existing legal provisions.
Due to the shutdown in power generation, the companies have reportedly suffered losses exceeding Rs 40 million within just two days. Concerns are rising that the financial impact could increase further if the situation is not resolved soon.
Efforts are underway by relevant authorities and associations of energy producers to facilitate dialogue and restore operations. Discussions between stakeholders are ongoing in an attempt to reach a resolution and resume electricity production.
