ढाड सोझ्याउन नपाउँदै नेपाली उपभोक्तामाथि फेरि एकपटक इन्धनको भार थपियो। नेपाल आयल निगमले पेट्रोल र डिजेल दुवैको मूल्य प्रतिलिटर ३ रुपैयाँले बढाएको छ। साउन १८ गते बिहान राति १२ बजे एक मिनेटदेखि नयाँ मूल्य लागू हुनेछ।
नयाँ मूल्यअनुसार पहिलो वर्गमा पेट्रोल र डिजेल दुवैको मूल्य प्रतिलिटर १७१ रुपैयाँ ५० पैसा कायम गरिएको छ। दोस्रो वर्गमा प्रतिलिटर १९९ रुपैयाँ र तेस्रो वर्गमा २०० रुपैयाँ तोकिएको छ। मट्टितेलको मूल्य पनि डिजेलसरह नै राखिएको छ।
हवाई इन्धनको मूल्य पनि बढेको छ। आन्तरिक उडानतर्फ प्रतिलिटर २४९ रुपैयाँ कायम गरिएको छ भने अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय उडानतर्फ काठमाडौंका लागि प्रतिकिलोलिटर १ हजार ९६७ अमेरिकी डलर, पोखराका लागि १ हजार ९२३ डलर र भैरहवाका लागि १ हजार ९२२ डलर तोकिएको छ। एलपी ग्यासको मूल्य भने यसपटक अपरिवर्तित राखिएको छ।
मूल्य वृद्धिको कारण अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय बजार बताइएको छ। इन्डियन आयल कर्पोरेसनले जुलाई ३१ मा दिएको नयाँ खरिद मूल्यअनुसार पेट्रोलमा प्रतिलिटर २ रुपैयाँ ११ पैसा र डिजेलमा ३ रुपैयाँ ६७ पैसा लागत बढेको निगमले जनाएको छ। तर उपभोक्तामाथि पूरै भार नथुपार्ने उद्देश्यले आंशिक समायोजन मात्र गरिएको निगमको भनाइ छ।
आंशिक समायोजन गरे पनि निगमको घाटा भने रोकिने अवस्था छैन। मूल्य समायोजनपछि पनि मासिक करिब १ अर्ब ४८ करोड रुपैयाँ घाटा हुने निगमको अनुमान छ। अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय बजारमा मूल्य वृद्धिको क्रम जारी रहेकाले निगमले उपभोक्तालाई पेट्रोलियम पदार्थको मितव्ययी उपयोग गर्न आग्रह गरेको छ।
Nepalese consumers have been hit with another round of fuel price increases, with Nepal Oil Corporation raising the retail prices of petrol and diesel by Rs 3 per litre. The new rates will come into effect from one minute past midnight on Shrawan 18.
Under the revised pricing, petrol and diesel in the first category will both be priced at Rs 171.50 per litre. The second category price has been set at Rs 199 per litre, while the third category rate stands at Rs 200 per litre. Kerosene has been adjusted in line with diesel prices across all categories.
Aviation fuel prices have also been revised upward. For domestic flights, the rate has been fixed at Rs 249 per litre. For international flights, the per kilolitre price has been set at USD 1,967 for Kathmandu, USD 1,923 for Pokhara, and USD 1,922 for Bhairahawa. Liquefied petroleum gas prices, however, have been left unchanged in this round of revision.
The corporation attributed the increase to rising costs in the international market. According to NOC, the new purchase price received from Indian Oil Corporation on July 31 showed a cost increase of Rs 2.11 per litre for petrol and Rs 3.67 per litre for diesel. The corporation noted that the retail price adjustment has been kept partial deliberately, so as not to pass the full burden of the cost increase onto consumers.
Despite the price hike, NOC's financial losses are far from resolved. The corporation estimates it will still incur a monthly loss of approximately Rs 1.48 billion even after the latest adjustment. With international prices continuing to rise, NOC has urged consumers to use petroleum products sparingly and efficiently.
