नेपालका एक मात्र डलर अर्बपति विनोद चौधरी यस वर्ष विश्वका धनी व्यक्तिहरूको सूचीमा १९८२औँ स्थानमा परेका छन्। अमेरिकी व्यावसायिक पत्रिका फोर्ब्सले सार्वजनिक गरेको फोर्ब्स वर्ल्ड बिलियनियर्स लिस्ट अनुसार चौधरीको कुल सम्पत्ति २ अर्ब १० करोड अमेरिकी डलर पुगेको छ। यो रकम नेपाली रुपैयाँमा करिब ३ खर्ब २ अर्ब बराबर हुन्छ। अघिल्लो वर्ष उनी १७६३औँ स्थानमा थिए र उनको सम्पत्ति करिब २ अर्ब डलर थियो। यस वर्ष उनका सम्पत्ति करिब १० करोड डलरले बढे पनि, विश्वभरका अन्य अर्बपतिहरूको सम्पत्ति तीव्र गतिमा बढेकाले उनको र्याङ्किङ तल झरेको हो।चौधरी दक्षिण एसियामा भारतका अर्बपतिहरू बाहेक फोर्ब्सको अर्बपति सूचीमा समावेश हुने एकमात्र व्यवसायी हुन्। सार्क क्षेत्रका अन्य मुलुकहरूको उद्योगपतिहरूको नाम यो सूचीमा छैन। फोर्ब्सको सूचीमा चौधरीको स्थान समयसँगै परिवर्तन भएको छ, सन् २०१९ मा उनी विश्वका १३४९औँ धनी व्यक्तिका रूपमा सूचीबद्ध भएका थिए। कोभिड-१९ महामारीपछि व्यापार मन्दीको कारण उनका सम्पत्तिमा गिरावट आएको थियो, तर महामारीपछिको आर्थिक पुनरुत्थानसँगै उनले आफ्नो सम्पत्ति वृद्धि गर्न सफल भएका छन्।
Vinod Chaudhary, Nepal’s only dollar billionaire, has ranked 1982nd in the global list of the world’s wealthiest individuals according to Forbes. His total wealth amounts to 2.1 billion US dollars, which is approximately NPR 320 billion. Last year, he was ranked 1763rd, with a wealth of about 2 billion US dollars. Although his wealth has increased by 100 million dollars this year, his ranking has dropped as the wealth of other billionaires worldwide has increased rapidly.Chaudhary is the only businessman from South Asia, excluding India, to be included in Forbes' billionaire list. There are no business tycoons from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, or the Maldives in the list from the SAARC region. Chaudhary’s rank has fluctuated over time. In 2019, he was listed as the 1349th wealthiest individual globally. His wealth experienced a decline due to the global business downturn caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, but with the economic recovery, he managed to regain his wealth.
