Malaysia e-Visa for Nepali Citizens – Complete Online Application Guide 2025

The Malaysia e-Visa (MYVISA) allows Nepali citizens to apply for a visa online without visiting an embassy. Applicants can choose between a Single Entry or Multiple Entry Visa. The application process takes 2–7 working days and requires uploading valid documents and paying fees online. The e-Visa is valid for six months and allows up to 30 days per visit.

Malaysia e-Visa for Nepali Citizens – Complete Online Application Guide 2025

The Malaysia e-Visa (MYVISA) is an online application system introduced by the Immigration Department of Malaysia, designed to simplify visa processing for foreign nationals, including Nepali citizens. It allows applicants to apply for their visa entirely online from the comfort of their home without visiting the embassy. Nepali citizens can apply for a Single Entry Visa (SEV) for one visit or a Multiple Entry Visa (MEV) for frequent travel to Malaysia. However, individuals from Israel and North Korea are not eligible for the MEV category.

To apply for the Malaysia e-Visa, applicants must visit the official website https://malaysiavisa.imi.gov.my. The e-Visa cannot be applied for within Malaysia; it must be obtained before traveling. The process involves creating an account, filling out the online application form, uploading necessary documents, paying the fee online, and waiting for approval. Once approved, the visa can be downloaded and printed in A4 size, either in color or black and white.

The documents required include a valid passport (minimum six months validity and three blank pages), a recent studio passport photo with a white background, a scanned copy of the passport biodata page, confirmed flight tickets, proof of accommodation, and a cover letter if staying with relatives or friends. Minors must submit their birth certificate. For travelers unable to provide specific documents, a simple cover letter addressed to the Malaysian Immigration Officer is acceptable.

The processing time usually takes 2 to 7 working days, excluding weekends and public holidays. Applicants are advised to apply at least 14 days before their intended travel date. The visa fee depends on nationality, with a processing charge of RM105, and a small convenience fee (0.8%–1.7%) for online payment via credit card, Alipay, or WeChat Pay. Please note that all fees are non-refundable, even if the visa application is rejected.

The e-Visa is valid for six months from the date of issuance. A Single Entry Visa allows a stay of up to 30 days per visit, while a Multiple Entry Visa allows 30 days per entry. However, possession of an approved e-Visa does not guarantee entry into Malaysia, as final approval is granted by immigration officers at the entry points. Upon arrival, travelers must present their passport, e-Visa printout or digital copy, return ticket, accommodation proof, and supporting documents.

Common login problems can often be fixed by clearing browser cache, disabling VPNs, or switching to a mobile data connection. In case of application mistakes after payment, applicants must reapply with corrected information, as corrections are not allowed once payment is made.

The Malaysia e-Visa has become a convenient and secure option for Nepali travelers visiting Malaysia for tourism, business, family, or medical purposes. The digital process saves time, reduces paperwork, and ensures a faster, transparent application experience for all travelers.
