Thai Embassy Business Visa Checklist for Nepali Applicants

Thai Embassy Business Visa Checklist for Nepali Applicants

Applying for a Thailand Business Visa (Non-Immigrant “B”) from Nepal requires proper documentation and preparation according to the official checklist prescribed by the Royal Thai Embassy in Kathmandu. The purpose of this visa is to allow Nepali businesspersons, investors, and company representatives to visit Thailand for business meetings, trade fairs, seminars, or investment discussions. To ensure smooth processing and avoid delays or rejection, applicants must prepare all required documents before scheduling their visa submission.

The first and most important document is a valid passport with at least six months’ validity beyond the intended travel date, and at least two blank visa pages. Applicants must fill out the Thailand Business Visa Application Formcompletely and correctly—either by downloading it from the Thai Embassy’s official website or filling it out through the Thailand eVisa portal (www.thaievisa.go.th). Two recent passport-size photographs (3.5 × 4.5 cm, white background) are required.

A major component of the checklist is a Company Invitation Letter issued by a registered Thai company. This letter should mention the applicant’s name, passport number, position, purpose of visit, and duration of stay in Thailand. It must be printed on official company letterhead, signed, and stamped by an authorized person such as the Managing Director or HR Manager. Alongside, the applicant must attach a copy of the Thai company’s business registration certificate, shareholder list, and VAT registration certificate to validate the authenticity of the host company.

From the Nepali side, applicants must include their Nepal company registration certificate, PAN/VAT registration, tax clearance certificate, and proof of ongoing business operations such as invoices, contracts, or trade documents. The applicant should also include a detailed business itinerary, hotel reservation, and confirmed flight booking (both onward and return). One of the most critical documents is a bank statement of the last six months, clearly showing financial capacity with sufficient balance (preferably equivalent to at least THB 500,000 or around NPR 2.3 million) to demonstrate the applicant’s ability to support the trip financially.

Additionally, applicants must attach proof of residence in Nepal, visa fee payment receipt, and a Manager’s Chequeissued by Global IME Bank payable to “The Royal Thai Embassy, Kathmandu.” This cheque must cover the applicable visa fee—THB 2,000 for a single-entry visa (valid for 3 months) or THB 5,000 for a multiple-entry visa (valid for 1 year). The visa fee is non-refundable, even if the visa is rejected or withdrawn. The embassy may also request additional documents or invite the applicant for an interview to verify the business purpose and financial capability.

All documents should be neatly organized in a clear sequence and submitted during embassy working hours (usually 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, Sunday to Thursday). The processing time for the Thailand Business Visa is generally between 3 to 7 working days, depending on document accuracy and verification requirements. Applicants are strongly advised to apply at least three weeks before their intended travel date to allow sufficient time for processing and unforeseen delays.
