मनाङ–लमजुङ सीमामा ३० मेगावाटको म्यार्दी जलविद्युत् आयोजना निर्माण हुने30 MW Myardi Hydropower Project to Be Built on Manang–Lamjung Border
काठमाडौं — मनाङ जिल्लाको नासोङ गाउँपालिका र लमजुङ जिल्लाको मस्र्याङदी गाउँपालिकाको सीमामा कूल ३० मेगावाट क्षमताको म्यार्दी जलविद्युत् आयोजना निर्माण हुने भएको छ। आयोजनाको प्रक्रिया अगाडि बढाउँदै वन तथा वातावरण मन्त्रालयले वातावरणीय प्रभाव मूल्यांकन (ईआईए) प्रतिवेदन तयारीको काम सुरु गरेको छ।
म्यार्दी खोला हाइड्रोपावर कम्पनी प्रालि आयोजनाको प्रस्तावक रहेको छ। यो आयोजना नदी प्रवाही प्रकृतिको हुने जनाइएको छ, जसअन्तर्गत नदीको प्राकृतिक बहावलाई उपयोग गरी विद्युत् उत्पादन गरिनेछ। आयोजनाबाट वार्षिक औसत १७३.४४ गिगावाट घण्टा विद्युत् उत्पादन हुने अनुमान गरिएको छ।
आयोजनाबाट उत्पादन हुने विद्युत् १० किलोमिटर लामो १३२ केभी क्षमताको प्रसारण लाइनमार्फत धारापानीस्थित २२० केभी क्षमताको मनाङ हबमा जोडिनेछ। त्यसपछि राष्ट्रिय प्रसारण प्रणालीमा समावेश गरी देशभर आपूर्ति गरिने योजना रहेको छ।
यस आयोजनाको कूल लागत ३ अर्ब ९० करोड ९७ लाख रुपैयाँ रहने अनुमान गरिएको छ। यस आधारमा प्रतिमेगावाट लागत करिब १३ करोड ३ लाख रुपैयाँ पर्नेछ। लगानीको ठूलो हिस्सा संरचना निर्माण, प्रसारण लाइन र प्रविधि जडानमा खर्च हुने जनाइएको छ।
वन तथा वातावरण मन्त्रालयले आयोजनाबाट वातावरणमा पर्न सक्ने सम्भावित प्रभावका विषयमा सरोकारवालाहरूलाई जानकारी दिन आग्रह गरेको छ। मन्त्रालयले स्थानीय बासिन्दा, जनप्रतिनिधि, सरोकारवाला संस्था तथा विज्ञहरूबाट सुझाव संकलन गरी प्रतिवेदनलाई अन्तिम रूप दिने तयारी गरेको जनाएको छ।
ऊर्जा क्षेत्रका विज्ञहरूका अनुसार यो आयोजना सम्पन्न भएपछि मनाङ र लमजुङ क्षेत्रको आर्थिक गतिविधि बढ्नुका साथै रोजगारीका अवसर सिर्जना हुने अपेक्षा गरिएको छ। साथै, राष्ट्रिय विद्युत् उत्पादनमा थप योगदान पुग्ने विश्वास गरिएको छ।
सरकारले जलविद्युत् विकासलाई प्राथमिकतामा राख्दै आएको सन्दर्भमा म्यार्दी जलविद्युत् आयोजना पनि महत्वपूर्ण परियोजनाका रूपमा हेरिएको छ। वातावरणीय मूल्यांकन प्रक्रिया पूरा भएपछि आयोजना निर्माण कार्य औपचारिक रूपमा सुरु हुने बताइएको छ।
Kathmandu — A 30-megawatt Myardi Hydropower Project is set to be constructed along the border of Nasong Rural Municipality in Manang district and Marsyangdi Rural Municipality in Lamjung district. As part of the development process, the Ministry of Forests and Environment has begun preparing the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report.
The project is being proposed by Myardi Khola Hydropower Company Pvt. Ltd. It is designed as a run-of-river type project, which will generate electricity by utilizing the natural flow of the river without creating a large reservoir. The project is expected to produce an average of 173.44 gigawatt-hours of electricity annually.
Electricity generated from the project will be transmitted through a 10-kilometer-long 132 kV transmission line. It will be connected to the 220 kV Manang hub located in Dharapani before being integrated into the national transmission grid for distribution across the country.
The total estimated cost of the project stands at Rs. 3.90 billion. Based on this investment, the cost per megawatt is calculated at approximately Rs. 130 million. A significant portion of the budget will be allocated to civil works, transmission infrastructure, and technical installations.
The Ministry of Forests and Environment has invited all concerned stakeholders to provide feedback on the potential environmental impacts of the project. Local residents, elected representatives, environmental experts, and related institutions are encouraged to participate in the consultation process to ensure that development proceeds in an environmentally responsible manner.
Energy sector experts believe that once completed, the project will contribute significantly to national power generation while also boosting economic activities in the Manang and Lamjung regions. The construction phase is expected to create employment opportunities for local communities and improve regional infrastructure.
In line with the government’s priority to expand hydropower development, the Myardi Hydropower Project is regarded as an important addition to Nepal’s growing energy portfolio. Following the completion and approval of the environmental assessment, construction is expected to begin formally in the coming months.
