मन्त्रिपरिषद्को निर्णय: २ करोड ४२ लाख डलर अनुदान स्वीकार, युद्ध प्रभावित क्षेत्रमा रहेका नेपालीको उद्धारमा दूतावास परिचालनCabinet Approves $24.27 Million Grant, Mobilizes Diplomatic Missions for Rescue of Nepalis in Conflict-Affected West Asia
काठमाडौं । सरकारले २ करोड ४२ लाख ६७ हजार ४२७ अमेरिकी डलर बराबरको अनुदान सहायता स्वीकार गर्ने निर्णय गरेको छ। प्रधानमन्त्री निवास बालुवाटारमा आज बसेको मन्त्रिपरिषद् बैठकले उक्त अनुदान स्वीकार गर्ने निर्णय गरेको हो।सरकारका अनुसार हरित जलवायु कोष (Green Climate Fund) बाट संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघीय विकास कार्यक्रम (UNDP) मार्फत प्राप्त हुने उक्त अनुदान नेपालका हिम नदी बेसिन क्षेत्रमा सञ्चालन हुने परियोजनाका लागि प्रयोग गरिनेछ। उक्त परियोजनामार्फत हिमताल विस्फोटनजन्य बाढी (GLOF) तथा बाढीबाट उत्पन्न जोखिम न्यूनीकरण गर्दै स्थानीय जनताको जीविकोपार्जन र सम्पत्तिको संरक्षण गर्ने लक्ष्य राखिएको छ।बैठकले युद्ध प्रभावित पश्चिम एसियाली मुलुकहरूमा रहेका तथा ट्रान्जिटमा अलपत्र परेका नेपाली नागरिकहरूको राहत तथा उद्धार कार्यलाई प्रभावकारी बनाउने निर्णय पनि गरेको छ। यसका लागि हाललाई नेपाली राजदूतावास रियाद, अबुधाबी, दोहा, कुवेत सिटी, म्यानामा, मस्कट, इस्लामाबाद, कायरो र तेल अबिब तथा नेपाली महावाणिज्य दूतावास जेद्दा र दुबईलाई आवश्यक व्यवस्था मिलाउन निर्देशन दिइएको छ।त्यसैगरी, गत भदौ २३ र २४ गते भएको ‘जेन–जी’ विद्रोहसँग सम्बन्धित घटनाको छानबिन गर्न गठित जाँचबुझ आयोगले पेश गरेको प्रतिवेदन अध्ययन गर्नेगरी मन्त्रिपरिषद्ले प्रतिवेदन ग्रहण गर्ने निर्णय गरेको गृहमन्त्री ओमप्रकाश अर्यालले जानकारी दिएका छन्।
Kathmandu — The government has decided to accept a grant assistance of $24.27 million (approximately $24,267,427). The decision was made during a meeting of the Council of Ministers held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar on Sunday.According to the government, the grant will be provided through the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) from the Green Climate Fund (GCF). The funding will be used for a project aimed at protecting livelihoods and property by reducing the risks posed by glacial lake outburst floods (GLOFs) and other flood-related disasters in Nepal’s Himalayan river basin areas.The project is expected to strengthen disaster preparedness and climate resilience in vulnerable mountainous regions where melting glaciers and unstable glacial lakes have increasingly raised the risk of sudden floods. Officials say the initiative will help improve early warning systems, risk management, and local capacity to respond to climate-induced disasters.In another decision, the Cabinet has instructed Nepali diplomatic missions in West Asia to coordinate immediate relief and rescue efforts for Nepali citizens affected by the ongoing conflict in the region or stranded in transit. The embassies in Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Kuwait City, Manama, Muscat, Islamabad, Cairo, and Tel Aviv, along with the Nepali Consulates General in Jeddah and Dubai, have been directed to make necessary arrangements to assist Nepali nationals.The government said the measure aims to ensure rapid coordination and support for Nepalis who may require evacuation, emergency assistance, or travel facilitation amid the rising tensions in the region.Meanwhile, the Cabinet has also decided to receive and study the report submitted by the investigation commission formed to examine the incidents related to the “Gen-Z uprising” that occurred on September 9 and 10 (Bhadra 23 and 24 in the Nepali calendar).Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal informed that the Cabinet will review the commission’s findings in detail before determining further action regarding the events.
