पूर्वप्रधानमन्त्री माधवकुमार नेपालविरुद्ध भ्रष्टाचार मुद्दा दायर: राजनीति वृतमा हलचलFormer Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal Faces Corruption Charges: Political Circles Stirred
अख्तियार दुरूपयोग अनुसन्धान आयोगले पूर्वप्रधानमन्त्री एवम् नेकपा एकीकृत समाजवादी पार्टीका अध्यक्ष माधवकुमार नेपालविरुद्ध भ्रष्टाचार मुद्दा दायर गरेको छ। आयोगले १८ करोड ५८ लाख ५० हजार रुपैयाँ बिगो कायम गरी बिहीबार विशेष अदालतमा भ्रष्टाचार मुद्दा दायर गरेको हो।
अख्तियारका प्रवक्ता राजेन्द्रकुमार पौडेलले विशेष अदालतमा नेपालविरुद्ध भ्रष्टाचार मुद्दा दायर गरिएको जानकारी दिएका छन्। ‘भ्रष्टाचार मुद्दाको फाइल विशेष अदालतमा पुगेको छ’, उनले भने। उनका अनुसार केहीबेरमा औपचारिक विज्ञप्ति जारी गरिनेछ।
पतञ्जलीका नाममा हदबन्दी छुटमा जग्गा खरिद गर्न र किनेको दुई महिना नबित्दै गैरकानुनी रूपमा हाउजिङ कम्पनीलाई बेच्ने स्वीकृति दिएको विषयमा अख्तियारले तत्कालीन प्रधानमन्त्री नेपालसहित ९३ जनालाई प्रतिवादी बनाएर मुद्दा दायर गरेको हो।
२०६६ सालमा माधवकुमार नेपाल प्रधानमन्त्री हुँदा मन्त्रिपरिषदबाट निर्णय गरेर हदबन्दी छुटमा रहेको जग्गा खरिद गर्ने स्वीकृति दिइएको थियो। तर पछि हदबन्दीभन्दा बढी कानुनविपरीत जग्गा बिक्री गरेको भन्दै उजुरी आएपछि अख्तियारले यसबारे अनुसन्धान अघि बढाएको थियो।
नेपालको इतिहासमा पहिलोपटक पूर्व प्रधानमन्त्रीमाथि भ्रष्टाचार मुद्दा दर्ता भएको हो। यस्तै, मन्त्रिपरिषद्को निर्णयमाथि भ्रष्टाचारविरुद्धको मुद्दा चलेको पहिलोपटक हो।
अख्तियारमा भ्रष्टाचार मुद्दा दायर भएसँगै एकीकृत समाजवादीका सांसद माधवकुमार नेपालको पद निलम्बनमा परेको छ।
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against former Prime Minister and Chairman of the CPN Unified Socialist Party, Madhav Kumar Nepal. The commission has set a liability of NPR 185.85 million and filed the case at the Special Court on Thursday.
CIAA spokesperson Rajendra Kumar Paudel confirmed that the file has been submitted to the Special Court. "The corruption case file has reached the Special Court," he stated. A formal press release will be issued shortly.
The case revolves around the illegal purchase and sale of land under the name of Patanjali. The land was purchased under a special exemption for land plots, and within two months, it was unlawfully sold to a housing company. The case has named 93 individuals, including then-Prime Minister Nepal.
In 2009, when Madhav Kumar Nepal was Prime Minister, the Cabinet made a decision to grant permission for purchasing land under a special exemption. However, following complaints of land sales that violated the legal boundaries, the CIAA began its investigation.
This is the first time in Nepal's history that a former Prime Minister has faced a corruption case. It is also the first time that a Cabinet decision has been challenged under a corruption case.
With the filing of the corruption case by the CIAA, the position of Madhav Kumar Nepal, who is a Member of Parliament from the CPN Unified Socialist Party, has been suspended.
