सात दिनभित्र सबै सामाजिक सञ्जाल सूचीकरण गर्न सरकारको आग्रहGovernment Directs All Social Media Platforms to Register Within Seven Days
नेपाल सरकारको संचार तथा सूचना प्रविधि मन्त्रालयले अब देशमा सञ्चालनमा रहेका सबै सामाजिक सञ्जाल प्लेटफर्मलाई सात दिनभित्र अनिवार्य रूपमा सूचीकरण गर्न आग्रह गरेको छ। मन्त्रालयले बिहीबार सार्वजनिक सूचना जारी गर्दै हालसम्म सूचीकरण नभएका स्वदेशी तथा विदेशी सामाजिक सञ्जाल कम्पनीलाई तोकिएको म्यादभित्र मन्त्रालयमा सम्पर्क गरी अनिवार्य रूपमा सूचीकरण गर्न निर्देशन दिएको हो।
यसअघि सर्वोच्च अदालतको पूर्ण इजलासले अदालतको अवहेलनासम्बन्धी मुद्दामा सामाजिक सञ्जाल सञ्चालनपूर्व सूचीकरण अनिवार्य गर्न सरकारलाई आदेश दिएको थियो। सो आदेशअनुसार मन्त्रिपरिषद्को भदौ ९ गतेको निर्णयपछि मन्त्रालयले सार्वजनिक सूचना जारी गरेको हो।
सरकारको यो निर्णयसँगै अब नेपालमा सञ्चालनमा रहेका सबै सामाजिक सञ्जाललाई कानूनी रूपमा सूचीकरण गरेर मात्र सेवा प्रदान गर्नुपर्नेछ।
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has urged all social media platforms operating in Nepal to register within seven days. In a public notice issued on Thursday, the ministry instructed both domestic and foreign platforms that are yet to be registered to contact the ministry and complete the registration process within the given deadline.
This move follows a directive from the Supreme Court’s full bench, which had ordered the government to make registration mandatory before allowing the operation of social media platforms, particularly in connection with a contempt of court case. Acting on the court’s order, the Cabinet made the decision on Bhadra 9 and the ministry subsequently issued the public notice.
With this decision, all social media platforms must now be legally registered in Nepal before providing their services.
