मध्यपूर्वी तनावबीच इरानले स्ट्रेट अफ हर्मुज पूर्ण रूपमा बन्द गर्योIran Shuts Strait of Hormuz Amid Rising Middle East Tensions
काठमाडौँ – संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका र इरानबीच दुई हप्ते युद्धविराम लगत्तै स्थिति पुनः बिग्रँदा इरानले तेल आपूर्तिका लागि महत्त्वपूर्ण स्ट्रेट अफ हर्मुज पूर्ण रूपमा बन्द गरेको छ । लेबनानमा इजरायलले गरेको भीषण आक्रमणको प्रतिक्रिया स्वरूप यो कदम चालिएको हो जसका कारण तेल ट्यांकरहरू बीच बाटोमै फर्किन बाध्य भएका छन्।इरानको सरकारी सञ्चारमाध्यम प्रेस टिभीका अनुसार, खाडी क्षेत्रबाट बाहिर निस्कन लागेका धेरै तेल ट्यांकरहरू पर्सियन खाडीमै रोकिएका छन्। पहिले, मंगलबारको दुई हप्ते युद्धविरामपछि बुधबार बिहान ग्रीसको बल्क क्यारियर एनजे अर्थ र लाइबेरियाको झण्डा बोकेको डेटोना जहाजले यो जलमार्ग पार गरेका थिए।तर, इजरायलले लेबनानमा गरेको ठूलो स्तरको हवाई आक्रमणमा कम्तीमा २५४ जनाको मृत्यु भएपछि स्थिति अचानक तनावपूर्ण बनेको छ। इरानको अर्ध–सरकारी समाचार एजेन्सी फार्सका अनुसार, लेबनानमा भएको आक्रमणको विरोधमा इरानले हर्मुज जलसन्धिबाट हुने सम्पूर्ण तेल ट्यांकरको आवतजावत रोकिदिएको छ।सिपिङ एनालिटिक्स फर्म केप्लरका अनुसार, मंगलबारसम्म यस क्षेत्रमा १८७ वटा तेल ट्यांकरसहित १,००० भन्दा बढी जहाजहरू प्रतिक्षामा थिए। सामान्य अवस्थामा पनि यति धेरै जहाजलाई बाहिर निस्कन दुई हप्ताभन्दा बढी समय लाग्ने बताइएको छ। यसैबीच, इरानको पोर्ट्स एन्ड म्यारिटाइम अर्गनाइजेसनले बुधबार सुरक्षित नेभिगेसन चार्ट जारी गरेको छ र सबै जहाजहरूलाई बारुदी सुरुङको जोखिमबाट बच्न तोकिएको मार्ग कडाइका साथ पालना गर्न सचेत गराएको छ। विश्वको कुल तेल आपूर्तिको ठूलो हिस्सा यही जलसन्धि भएर जाने भएकाले यसको बन्दले विश्वव्यापी तेल बजार र आपूर्ति शृङ्खलामा गम्भीर असर पर्ने अनुमान गरिएको छ।
Kathmandu – Following a renewed escalation after a brief ceasefire between the United States and Iran, Iran has completely closed the strategically crucial Strait of Hormuz for oil shipments. This move comes in response to Israel’s heavy attacks in Lebanon, forcing oil tankers to turn back midway.According to Iran’s state media Press TV, numerous tankers attempting to exit the Gulf are now forced to remain within the Persian Gulf. Earlier, after the two-week ceasefire agreed on Tuesday, two ships—the Greek bulk carrier NJ Earth and the Liberian-flagged Daytona—had successfully passed the strait on Wednesday morning, as reported by marine traffic data.However, following Israel’s large-scale airstrikes in Lebanon that killed at least 254 people, tensions sharply escalated. Iran’s semi-official Fars news agency reported that in protest, Iran has halted all tanker movements through the Strait of Hormuz.Shipping analytics firm Kepler reported that as of Tuesday, over 1,000 vessels, including 187 oil tankers, were waiting to pass through the strait. Under normal circumstances, it would take more than two weeks for all vessels to exit. Meanwhile, Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization issued a safe navigation chart on Wednesday, advising ships to strictly follow designated routes to avoid risks from potential underwater explosives. Given that a significant portion of global oil supply passes through this waterway, the closure is expected to have serious implications for international oil markets and supply chains.
